REASON: This cartoon movie is based on a true story and began in 1960, when the Russians brought a puppy named Pushok on the CCCP plane to young democrat President John F. Kennedy as a gift for his daughter. The carrier man landed at the airport and had a police motorcycle escort and arrived on a spring day with cherry blossoms in bloom and a rainbow over the White House. The puppy sneezed once out of the crate and then JFK wasn’t thrilled when the new pup broke the Ming vase in the White House and said Jackie would kill him when JFK was on the phone with Khrushchev and thanked the foreigner for the present on, behalf of The People too. Pushok could talk and told the other dogs the story of mother Belka, who was the star of a circus. A pig named Baltimore popped his pants, so Kolusha, the parrot, talked Belka into flying Baltimore’s rocket during a circus act. However, Belka didn’t know how to fly and the rocket shot out of the tent and destroyed a phonebooth far away. Lenny the cheese-obsessed rat tried to steal coins from the phonebooth so he could make calls to order cheese and run for politics. His friend, Strelka, was a Moscow street dog stray, and she fought with Belka and called her a circus clown while Belka accused Strelka of being flea-ridden. A dog gang appeared and chased Strelka, Belka and Lenny because they were on the gang’s turf. They took a subway to escape from the gang and security, and Strelka and Lenny took Belka to their home inside a “socialist” sculpture at the Expo. Strelka told Belka that the medallion she wore around her neck that her mom gave her was identical to the one her dad wore. He was one of the dogs who lived in space, but Belka didn’t believe that so Strelka attacked Belka until Lenny broke it up. The next morning, Strelka and Belka were still fighting. The dogcatcher captured Strelka and Lenny, and when Belka tried to rescue them she got taken too. They were all shipped off on a train to a camp to be recruited and trained as space dogs. They were outfitted with suits, locked in cells, worked hard on an exercise regimen and fed slop by Captain Kazbek, the strict dog who called himself their father and mother. Two of the cadets were from the dog gang, and the two males were mad that they were forced into the girls’ group. When they found out that only two dogs would be picked to go to space in Sputnik 5, all the dogs competed since something terrible would happen to who didn’t get picked. The dog gangsters sabotaged Strelka and unplugged her suit during underwater training so she nearly drowned, but Belka and Lenny rescued her. Kazbek had the cadets meet with the cat psychiatrist for mental evaluation, and the cat tried to eat Lenny. Meanwhile, Kolusha and the other circus animals put up missing posters for Belka. They tried to perform without Belka but the circus show was lame. As it turned out, Strelka, Belka and Lenny were the winners in the race to space competition, and Kazbek went to the psychiatrist and told him to find a way to disqualify the trio. However, the cat psychiatrist thought that Kazbek was the patient since he was ranting and needed more help than the others, so Kazbek left. The dogs, Lenny and a group of mice boarded Sputnik 5, and the whole country watched the Russian launch. Strelka and Belka were sent out to do spacewalks and then headed back to Earth. However, Strelka took the spaceship off autopilot and steered it in a different direction so she could find her dad. Kazbek was onboard and ordered Strelka to turn around, but she refused and the spaceshipwas bombarded with fiery meteors. The rocket started malfunctioning and there was a fire in the cabin, and the dogs put the fire out with liquid food. Belka took to heart Kazbek’s creed “what doesn’t hurt you makes you stronger,” and she took control of the ship and was able to put them back on course. Kazbek explained that he tried to stop them from going to space because no dog in orbit ever came back alive. He was willing to give his life for his country and his princess Belka who he had a crush on. Strelka spotted a constellation of a dog wearing a medallion like her own and she believed it was her dad. The rocket then crashed on Earth, and Strelka, Belka and Lenny became instantly famous. Kazbek did not because the Russians didn’t want anyone to know that he stowed away. Belka (looked like Spitz) and Kazbek (looked like German Shepherd) were in love, and Pushok (male) was their puppy that the Russians gifted to the USA’s elected head of country and the Kennedy family. Only one of the White House pets wanted to hear more of Pushok’s story since the other animals didn’t believe it. Lenny added a dramatic twist to the space story every time he retold it. In the end, Belka and Kazbek went to the Russian circus, where Belka flew a rocket and Strelka sat beside her mom again watching the dramatic circus unfold, and Pushok narrated from the White House in the USA. Bizarrely, the info on the Internet states a female dog named Pushinka (fluffy) was given to JFK at the White House and Pushinka was the daughter of Strelka and Pushok and not Belka and Kazbek. Pushinka later mated with Charlie and together they had four offspring; Butterfly, Streaker, White Tips and Blackie.

REASON: This movie takes place in Hong Kong and began with Thongs and Octopus, two burglars, breaking into a safe in the hospital and stealing expensive prescription medicine and other valuables. At the same time, a young girl (looked teen age) named Mani Lee gave birth to a baby boy at the same hospital. Thongs and Octopus wore doctors’ coats to escape the building, and Octopus pretended to be a pregnant man to get out of the hospital but security busted them and they ran. Mani’s ex-boyfriend (Max) then showed up and Max grabbed baby Lee out of Mrs. Lee’s hands and ran to get Mani Lee in her hospital bed. Mani told Max that she was married to Calvin and the baby was his and not Max’s like he thought and they couldn’t get married and be in Alaska like he wanted. Max decided that baby Lee was his and he tried to drag Mani’s stretcher down the stairs so she could go too, but Max left it when a tug of war happened with him and the authorities and then Max ran with baby Lee and screamed at the newborn to shut up. Max was tackled by security on the escalator and ended up falling over the railing, and the baby Lee was also thrown over to fall many feet below. That diverted security’s attention from Thongs and Octopus so they could escape, but Thongs used his martial arts moves to catch the wrapped child of God, who then slipped out of the hands of Thong but was miraculously caught by doctors before the naked baby Lee fell to his death. Everyone congratulated Thongs and Octopus (not knowing they were criminals in disguise), and as they ran away the heroes of the Lee family dropped the stolen drugs and Viagra out of their makeshift bags and criminals left in their partner’s (The Landlord) getaway van. The trio spent the stolen money on horse races, Ferraris and expensive jewelry, and then they continued their crime spree and stole more money, shark fins and Japanese shells from other safes. Thongs borrowed $100,000 from McDaddy, who was tired of waiting to be paid back and sent his thugs after Thongs. Thongs escaped by jumping down off the roof, and then Thongs’ friend, police inspector Steve Mok, put a black mask over Thongs’ head and handcuffed him to pretend that he was apprehending Thongs as Steve thought his chum’s life of crime was over. The wife of Octopus, Yan, spied on Octopus with a female client, and he spotted Yan (in her chicken outfit that was the only job she could get) and screamed hate words at her that he wanted a divorce because they got married too young and she was suffocating him. Yan announced that she was pregnant and Octopus was the baby’s sire and it happened after he came home drunk three months ago and had sex with Yan (PY) without protection. Octopus blamed Yan for not stopping him and told her to go to Shenzhen and get an abortion so their lives wouldn’t be ruined and Octopus hated kids anyway. He told Yan that he loved her but then dismissed her to take a bus to Shenzhen by herself since he didn’t want to drive her. McDaddy and Hairy came by Thongs’ family’s house to ask for Thongs’ whereabouts, and Thong attacked the thugs and threatened to kill them if they messed with his family. Thongs gave his family expensive gifts, and his dad rejected them and was upset that Thongs became a whoring, gambling and dishonest criminal after his parents put him through school to be a doctor or lawyer. He threw Thongs out and told him to never come back because he was an unworthy son. The Landlord and his wife The Landlady came home to find that their house was robbed, and she was unconcerned because they still had their baby, in the form of a baby doll that she carried with her after her son died years ago. Landlord agreed to take a big job so he could replenish his stash of stolen $3 million in the safe. Octopus’s Ferrari got towed, and the Landlord told his partners in crime that there was a job they could do for $7 million. The trio broke into the Lee mansion, and Thongs was upset when he learned that the job was to kidnap the baby Lee from the hospital and take him to a gang leader called Triad Boss, who wanted to do a blood test on baby Lee to prove that he was the baby’s grandfather. Landlord and Octopus gave the baby Lee a drug sedative to make him sleep, and Thongs didn’t want to go through with the hired kidnapping job but Landlord broke down and begged them to help because he was broke and in desperate need. Thongs and Octopus agreed and took off with the baby, and were followed by Baldy and Tokyo Joe, two Triad gangsters who were instructed by their boss to capture baby Lee and kill the three burglars if they stood in the way. A spy alongside the road photographed the criminals, and then Landlord and his partners encountered a police roadblock. The Landlord drove through when the gangsters appeared and the police chased after them. Landlord swerved off the road and landed in a ditch, and he was injured and told Thongs and Octopus to take baby Lee away from the crash scene and leave. Baldy and Tokyo Joe told the Boss that they failed, and he threatened to kill them if they didn’t succeed. Thongs and Octopus went to Landlord’s house, where baby Lee woke up and started bawling. Thongs stopped Octopus from giving baby Lee one of the narcotics they stole that would kill baby Lee because they did not want to hear the baby’s screams or deal with the infant’s fussy behavior. They calmed baby Lee with peekaboo, and Landlady heard the baby’s cries. They tried to hide baby Lee in Thong’s shirt but baby Lee started sucking on Thongs’ nipple. Landlady thought the baby was hers but Thongs and Octopus convinced her it wasn’t and gave her back her fake dolly baby. One man put the baby in the washer and the other man accidentally turned it on, and after they got baby Lee out of the machine they considered bashing him on the head to make him sleep or getting him drunk on beer. They sang some songs and it worked. Landlord called Thongs and Octopus to tell them that he was in jail for dangerous driving and would be out in a week. The duo went to the baby store and swore at each other outside as they tried to clean baby Lee’s private parts (showed on screen) because he pooped all over himself. The store cashier thought Thongs and Octopus were a gay couple and they acted homosexual to make it believable. She scolded them for buying women’s pads and the wrong baby items and she corrected them. Thongs and Octopus then took a baby care class led by Melody, a student nurse from Shaanxi, and for the next few days she (nurse in training) helped them take care of the baby. However, the men still put baby Lee in the fridge and picked him up with a vacuum, and they themselves dumped baby formula on each other and drank from baby bottles. Melody (liked Thongs) offered to watch the baby on her day off. Octopus tried to call Yan and tell her not to get an abortion because he didn’t hate kids so much anymore, but it went to voicemail. Thongs got kicked out of his secret gambling facility inside a building when he tried to go there with baby Lee. The Boss put a man in the freezer room at his amusement park lair, so the man revealed the names of Landlord’s partners. Baldy and Tokyo Joe, Triad gangsters, appeared at the childcare class, so Thongs and Octopus gave baby Lee to nurse in training Melody and fought off the minions. Melody brought baby Lee to Octopus’s apartment, and McDaddy and Hairy came to harass Thongs and ended up dumping on themselves they paint they meant to throw on Thongs. The two scary men barged into the apartment, and then Yan came to the door hoping Octopus was there so she could confront him with the ultrasound as her friend advised her to do. Octopus returned to the apartment and didn’t want to deal with the thugs, and he hurt his wife’s feelings when he told Melody that Yan and the thugs were nobodies. Octopus refused to even look at the ultrasound, and instead he and Melody hurried to hide baby Lee from officer Steve, who was on his way up with Thongs. Thongs made up a bunch of lies to Steve and introduced McDaddy and Hairy as his cousins. Baldy snuck in through the window, and Thongs introduced him as another cousin while Tokyo Joe tried to haul baby Lee up to the roof in a basket to steal him. Thongs claimed that he had a mixed-race family with one cousin from Africa (Wyoming plaque in apartment), and inspector Mok knew something was not right. Officer Steve spotted Octopus outside the window doing basket tug-of-war with the criminal on the roof so officer Steve tried to help and then saw the baby in the basket. The rope on the basket snapped and officer Steve almost fell out of the window, but Thongs pulled him up while Octopus ran off with baby Lee. The rest of the gang appeared, and officer Steve fought them off and then tried to arrest Thongs but he escaped out the window and shut the glass in officer Steve’s face. Octopus ran with baby Lee and Thongs went after him. Octopus put baby Lee in a stroller, but then the stroller got stuck on the back of an armored car after another car pushed the stroller into the bigger vehicle and it rolled down the road with the big truck with baby Lee inside. Thongs sped off in a car, and Octopus jumped on the back of a young girl with a rainbow shirt on a motorcycle and claimed to be a police officer. He convinced the girl to follow the armored car even though she only had her learner’s permit. The security drivers, Nicholas and Daniel, were worried they were getting robbed and they rear-ended Thongs when he got in front of them. Daniel spotted Octopus and thought the other man was cute in a romantic way. Octopus jumped onto the front of Thongs’ car and tried to reach the stroller. Baldy and Tokyo Joe sideswiped the car and Octopus flew off onto the road. The stroller got unhooked from the van and went careening into traffic. Thongs got baby Lee out of the stroller just as the cars smashed into it and each other. Daniel put his hand on Nicholas’s arm, looked at him romantically and said he was from Brokeback Mountain. Octopus tried to tell a young boy that he was a police officer and needed to commandeer his bicycle, but the kid knew better. The thugs picked Landlord up from court in their van and took him to the Boss, who upped the offer to $30 million for baby Lee. Thongs had a flashback of when his family pitched in to pay off his debts when he was in trouble and then he went back to stealing and gambling. Melody told Thongs that baby Lee was sick with a high fever and needed to be taken to the hospital, and on his way out he encountered his dad who was hardly able to make it up the stairs. Thongs’ younger sister reminded him that she called him and told him about their dad’s stroke but he didn’t care. Baby Lee received medicine at the hospital, and Landlord announced that they would get $10 million each, with a $5 million deposit, for turning the baby in to the Triad Boss. Thongs and Octopus weren’t very enthusiastic about it because they were attached to baby Lee, and they watched Mani and Calvin on TV news asking for baby Lee back. Octopus spotted Yan dressed up again trying to sell food, and he called her to apologize and tell her that she didn’t deserve him as her husband. Landlord showed baby Lee to his wife as a surprise and she was happy the baby wasn’t a fake dolly. Thongs told Melody that he was taking baby Lee back to the Lees, and she was convinced that Thongs could start over and be a better person and not a burglar, as the female had romantic feelings for Thongs. Thongs and Octopus brought baby Lee to an amusement park in a country area at night where Landlord was waiting with the money. They handed baby Lee over to the medical people (doctors or nurses) inside the fun park, who then drew a blood sample from the baby. Baby Lee cried hysterically as he was taken away and called for his two male parents, Mommy (Octopus) and Daddy (Thongs). The two decided to fight off the thugs and get baby Lee back while Landlord took off with the money. Octopus put baby Lee on the Ferris wheel, and the Boss turned on the machine and then shut it off. Baby Lee fell off the Ferris wheel from high up and Thongs caught him before the baby hit the ground. Thongs ran with baby Lee up a moving rollercoaster track and the goons followed, and then Thongs got off it and was going to escape. However, he turned baby Lee over to the Boss when Boss threatened to drop Octopus from the top of the rollercoaster upside-down. The Boss announced that after the test results came back proving the baby was his grandson, the three of them would go to Brazil. The Triad Boss explained that he built that amusement park for his son Max, but Max died (fell off the escalator) before it was finished because of the whore Mani. The test results came back, and the Boss took baby Lee to the freezer room to visit Max’s dead body that was being preserved. The Triad Boss told Max that baby Lee wasn’t his, so the Boss left baby Lee in the freezer with his dead son. He then went mad and ranted about building a giant ice palace, and the goons told Thongs and Octopus to take the money and get out. They fought the bad guys, and two almost-indestructible men in white suits went after Thongs and Octopus. Thongs threw baby crap into the mouth of one of them, and then Thongs, Octopus and the white-suited guys got locked inside the freezer and fought each other and by then baby Lee was almost dead. Baby Lee was almost frozen and so were Thongs and Octopus, and eventually Landlord and officer Steve found them. Landlord said he couldn’t open the Swiss combination lock on the door (the kind the CIA used), but then he easily opened it and Thongs, Octopus and baby Lee got out. Octopus was unable to hotwire one of the cars so they could escape, so he and Thongs realized they could use the jumper cables connected to the car battery as a defibrillator. Thongs took the brunt of the electric shock by holding the cables and touching baby Lee with his fingers, but it didn’t work. Inspector Steve had called the police and ambulance and arrived, and they arrested the Triad Boss and took baby Lee away in an ambulance. Thongs and Octopus chased after emergency vehicle until Thongs collapsed in the middle of the street and so did Octopus too. The trio later did a prison play for a crowd said they were sorry for hurting their family, and a priest told them may God forgive them in the name of the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. All three were blindfolded and shot dead, but then it turned out to be a demonstration to shown an audience that the government no longer executed prisoners. The inmates were congratulated for their great performances. Landlady told her husband that she already adopted 10 kids from South Africa, the Middle East and Germany.  Yan, very pregnant, was there for Octopus but she had to leave for her doctor appointment. Thongs thanked Melody for taking care of his stroke handicapped dad. Inspector Steve showed up and informed the trio of male prisoners that they would get reduced sentences. The Lee family appeared with baby Lee who was alive, and they asked the trio partners in crime to work for them, with Landlord as head of security, Thongs as the baby’s bodyguard and Octopus as the chauffeur of the sports car. They accepted and then found out that the brown (sometimes blue-eyed in lighting) baby Lee’s name was Matthew and baby Lee was from a billionaire family. The movie cover art listed, Variety, “Thrillingly choreographed.” MovieXclusive, “Genuinely funny!” Beyond Hollywood, “The thrills come thick and fast.” Todd Brown, Twitch, “Some of the very best stunt work Chan has done in years.”

REASON: This movie began in 1986, where 8-year-old Jane Nichols discovered her purpose in life at the St. Thomas Church near Hyatt Regency in Weehawken, New Jersey. She was at her cousin Lisa’s wedding and saved the day by fixing Lisa’s white wedding gown using a purple hair ribbon. Jane was a bridesmaid for many more weddings in the future. In present day in New York, Jane paid Ziggy the cabbie $300 to drive her back and forth between two weddings, Suzanne and Greg’s at the Catholic church and an Indian wedding where she was maid of honor and helped both brides on the toilet at both weddings in two different places around the city. She deducted $20 from the cabbie’s pay every time Ziggy looked in the rearview mirror at her changing dresses. Kevin Doyle (pen name Malcolm Doyle from his job as a Commitments writer for the New York Journal) noticed Jane rushing in and out and looking at her watch at Lisa’s wedding, and so he came to her rescue when Jane got knocked out cold on the floor as women trampled one another and tried to catch the bride bouquet. Kevin got Jane a cab to take her home, and he made it obvious that he wasn’t into extravagant weddings like Jane. Kevin found Jane’s Filofax (calendar agenda book) in the back of the cab and decided not to return it, and instead he read everything she had written down. Jane made a habit of reading the marriages articles written by Malcolm Doyle (Jane didn’t know that Kevin was Malcolm) and keeping them for a collection since she favored Malcolm’s writing. Jane’s girlfriend coworker Casey had flings and walks of shame with people at the weddings she attended, and even arrived at work two days after the wedding dressed in her fling’s attire. Kevin thought it would be a good idea to publish Jane’s Filofax organizer planner that he found in the cab, so he brought it to his editor Maureen. She countered his disaster when he had decided it was a great idea to go after wedding cake makers because they charged an 800% markup and it was a rip-off. Kevin threatened to quit or shoot himself if he didn’t get away from baby’s breath column writing. Maureen agreed to give him a change and let him write an article in the Style section about Jane, who committed herself to helping others in their time of need. Jane had a serious crush on her boss George, who she constantly ran errands for. George told Jane that he loved her in a non-romantic way, and Jane said she loved George too after he walked away and then Casey slapped Jane in the face because she knew Jane really meant it. Casey told Jane to stop being so responsible and to have sex with George at the office, get pregnant and then have a shotgun wedding. Jane then picked up her younger sister Tess from the airport after she spent six months in Italy. Jane took care of Tess after their mom died when they were young and their dad Hal was having trouble getting through. At a party that night, George told Jane that he left something for her on her desk and Jane thought it was the flowers she found. Casey told Jane to go tell George how she felt about him, but then George met Tess and George was into Tess so they talked and danced together. George cleared it up that it was his dry-cleaning slip on Jane’s desk that he left for Jane to pickup for him. Jane then ran into Kevin and he admitted that he left the flowers, so Jane had a quick meltdown outside and then Kevin gave her back her Filofax. Tess later told Jane that she was dating George and they were going to have lunch after Tess arrived back to Jane’s apartment after a long night with George. Tess started hanging out and flirting at work in George’s office, and Jane was mad and Jane was even more upset when she discovered that Kevin wrote his name and number throughout her Filofax. Jane scolded Tess for lying about being a vegetarian and liking dogs and hiking so George would think they had a lot in common. Tess introduced George to her dad Hal, who still owned a hardware store. George called Tess all the time and sent her flowers, and they had sex at the apartment. Soon after, Jane went to an Italian restaurant to return George’s wallet to him, and the waiters put up a proposal sign. George clarified that it wasn’t for Jane but Tess, who then arrived. George’s dog Gatsby bought the engagement ring, and George proposed to Tess and Tess accepted as Jane looked on. Tess told Hal that she was moving back to New York to live with George, and Hal gave Tess her mom’s wedding dress to wear. Jane was the one who liked their mom’s wedding dress, and Tess didn’t like the style at all and thought it was old-fashioned but she pretended to think otherwise. Jane finally met with Kevin after he told her that he was always available to hang out with. He tried to help Jane learn to say “no,” and not let people walk all over her, but she still agreed to do all the planning for sister Tess’s wedding. Tess announced that Malcolm Doyle was going to write an article about her and George. Tess was able to get a wedding reservation at the famous Boathouse because she knew that Jane wanted to get married there in her mom’s dress. Tess asked Jane if Casey would be a bridesmaid, and Jane managed to convince Casey, but not before Casey had so very unladylike words for wicked mean girl Tess. Jane also convinced Antoine the baker to get the cake done in time for the wedding in three weeks. Malcolm appeared to interview Tess and George for the article, and Jane was flabbergasted to learn that Malcolm was Kevin and it was his articles that she was obsessed with. Kevin later came to Jane’s apartment to interview her, and she reluctantly let him in. Kevin was shocked to see Jane’s closetful of the 27 bridesmaid dresses that she kept, and then he took pictures of her trying on all the dresses, including a suit from a wedding where the men wore dresses and the women wore suits. Jane called herself Jesus because she gave away her time to help everyone else with their weddings but she believed she would get married someday. Jane went to see Tess at George’s apartment, and she didn’t want Jane to come in but Jane barged in and discovered that Pedro, a young boy from the YMCA who George was “Big Brother” to (but George had his girlfriend babysit the boy when he was supposed to be mentoring Pedro himself), was cleaning the house as a part-time job. Tess told Jane not to tell George because it was Tess and Pedro’s secret. Maureen demanded that Kevin email her the 27 dresses story, and she was impressed and planned to put in on the front page. Kevin asked his female newspaper boss for one more week because he wrote negative things about Jane and now he was falling in love with her and wanted to change the article. Editor Maureen agreed to Kevin’s request. In the next scene, Jane and Kevin scanned all of the items on Tess’s wedding registry and agreed to register Tess for the ugliest things in the store. Kevin revealed that his wife left him not long after they got married. Jane and George had lunch together and talked, and Kevin walked in on them and realized that Jane was in love with George. Kevin interrupted Jane and George and then left with Jane. Kevin and Jane argued about what happened and Jane was a distracted driver, so she hydroplaned on the wet road. The car went off the road and got stuck in the mud, so Kevin and Jane walked to a nearby bar. Kevin convinced Jane to have one drink and she ended up having many. Kevin said his favorite part of a wedding was the bride’s entrance when Kevin looked at the groom to see if the man was truly happy and if his soul binding eyes were only for his bride and filled with an eternal kind of love, and Jane was shocked because that was her favorite part. Kevin and Jane danced on the counter and sang, “Bennie and the Jets,” on the karaoke machine. They then had sex in the car. The next morning, a tow truck was on its way to get them. A waitress recognized Jane from the paper, and Jane was mad when she saw the front-page article of the New York City paper that lying Maureen published after she said she wouldn’t, about Jane being “always, always, always a bridesmaid.” Kevin confronted Maureen about it, and she said it was her decision to make and he should be thanking her for giving him a chance to write the article and getting ahead in his career. Later on, Tess screamed at Kevin (Malcolm) on the phone that she was going to get an attorney because he called her Bridezilla in the article. Jane was upset when she learned that Tess had their mom’s dress cut up and the pieces used to make a new more modern wedding dress. Jane told Tess to tell George the truth about everything, otherwise Jane would because now her sister was a bit** to her. At the engagement party, Jane changed the slideshow pictures to show how Tess and George’s relationship was based on lies. Tess devoured barbecue, disliked animals and had affairs in high school and abroad. At the party, Pedro attended with Big Brother George and took the stage following Jane and announced that Tess was going to help him start a cleaning service even though he was only doing George’s house when he wasn’t around, and Pedro apologized for not keeping it a secret. Casey was there and told Jane that it wasn’t okay what she did to her sister Tess and George (Casey and Jane’s boss) even after Casey encouraged Jane to stand up for herself. George left and Tess went after him, and then she returned to say that the wedding was off. Jane and Kevin argued in the street outside the party building, and he told her that he was there because Jane needed someone to take care of her. Kevin gifted Jane with a BlackBerry electronic device to keep all of her appointments and notes organized verses writing everything on paper. Kevin got a work promotion at his newspaper job in NY for his article about Jane. Jane and Tess then argued at Hal’s (dad) store, and Tess threw things at Jane and accused her of being jealous of Tess and thinking she had a perfect life. Tess admitted that she decided to stay in New York because she got fired from her job. She told Jane to stop trying to do everything for everyone else and focus on own life. Jane went back to her apartment and put all her bridesmaid dresses in black garbage bags. George told Jane that he loved her because he could always count on her when Jane was called into his office late, and because Jane never said no. Jane then realized the truth in that and then explained to her needy boss that she only took the job after college because she was madly in love with George. George panicked because he didn’t want Jane to quit so he kissed Jane, but there was no passion and they both decided they weren’t for each other. Jane’s BlackBerry then played its “Bennie and the Jets,” ringtone that Kevin had preprogrammed before gifting it to her, so Jane decided to leave George high and dry and let George print out his own speech he was supposed to give that night and left the office quickly to find Kevin. Kevin wasn’t at his New York newspaper corporate office but was able to find out from Kevin’s co-workers where Kevin was, so Jane took Ziggy’s cab to the harbor and jumped onto the wedding boat, just as it pulled away from the dock. The bride was happy to have celebrity Jane onboard and let Jane profess her love to Malcolm and interrupt the band. Kevin he said he loved Jane too and they kissed. One year later, Tess was the maid of honor at Jane and Kevin’s beach wedding. Tess got reacquainted with George as Big Brother arrived with Pedro. Tess told George that she was broke, was in design school and she preferred rocks to pets. Jane wore her mom’s altered wedding dress, and she made all her dozens of bridesmaids wear the dresses that they made her wear when she attended their weddings. There was a huge article about Jane and Kevin’s wedding in the NY news. This movie had a budget of $30 million and grossed over $162 million at the box office. The movie cover art listed, CBS-TV (Atlanta) “The ultimate romantic comedy!” Chicago Sun-Times, “Charming and sweet!”

RATING [1 LEAST FAVORITE TO 5 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED]: 1

REASON: This movie is based on a book series and began with the black American president Gerald Fitzhugh sitting in the Oval Office as the White House burned down in a nightmarish apocalyptic world. Fitzhugh video taped himself explaining that he helped the (devil) white man Nicolae Carpathia, the leader of the Global Community, take over the world and (destroy) bring new world peace and one world religion (non-Christian). One week before, a group of masked people invaded a GC power plant and tried to retrieve all the Bibles that were being kept from the people. The security arrived and the people fled, but the militia shot Chris multiple times and demanded to know whom he worked for. CHRISTopher said he worked for God, and that was the wrong answer so Nicolae’s hired gunman shot Chris point-blank dead in the head. Meanwhile, Fitzhugh and his vice president John Mallory went out into the secluded woods to shoot skeet plates, and the Secret Service, a distance away, ignored the two men as they talked. President Fitzhugh accused his VP Mallory of giving the codes and the locations of the missiles that went missing to terrorists after the two already decided that getting rid of their weapons would leave them defenseless. Mallory denied it, and Fitzhugh went on to say that he agreed to join the 172 countries who were dropping their weapons so they could live in peace as Nicolae wanted. Mallory revealed that he knew Nicolae and the GC were planning to attack America and wipe out the population using a biological chemical formula virus. The group left and the SUV vehicle that was right behind the presidential limo in the motorcade then exploded in flames, and the limo driver didn’t drive far but instead the man got out of the car and ran to safety in the woods while abandoning the president and vice president to their own deaths. The armed GC terrorists appeared, and Fitzhugh told Mallory to get out of the car but he didn’t and the GC fired a missile and blew up the limo with the VP still in the vehicle. Two people on dirt bikes shot the GCs to protect the president, and the female stopped and told President Fitzhugh that Mallory was a good guy. Meanwhile, Reverend Bruce Barnes held a private underground church Christian wedding ceremony in which Cameron “Buck” Williams married Chloe Steele and Chloe’s dad Captain Rayford Steele married Amanda Susan White in the name of Jesus. Rayford and Amanda worked for Nicolae too, but they were secretly Christians. Rayford joked about Nicolae sending him to New Babylon in Iraq. Buck got the news of Mallory’s assassination and Fitzhugh’s survival, so Buck was headed off to Washington D.C. Everyone prayed first. President Fitzhugh was summoned to meet with Nicolae at Nicolae’s tower building in the D.C. area and Nicolae believed in multiple gods and was called Satan by Christians. While in his high rise office, high security building, Nicoale showed Fitzhugh the vials of green chemicals he created and threatened to turn the blue sky green if President Fitzhugh didn’t help Nicolae stay on his world domination course. Carolyn Miller staffer was called by Nicoale to show Fitzhugh out of his building, and the President recognized her as the woman on the dirt bike. Buck was grabbed off the street by Fitzhugh’s men and brought in for questioning. Once Buck confirmed that he was a Christian, President Fitzhugh agreed not to shoot Buck in the head. Fitzhugh wanted to know why the Christians were stockpiling vaccines, and Buck told him to read Matthew 24:3 that prophesied an infectious disease that would spread rapidly and wipe out the human population. The Bible referred to Nicolae as the beast of Revelation and the Antichrist, and he was currently assembling scientists and biologists in the US for an unknown reason. President Fitzhugh released Buck. Reverend Bruce informed Buck that Nicolae’s virus already infected 18 people, all members of underground churches, in Chicago and the same was happening in sister churches around the country. Chloe drove to Chicago by herself to deliver the vaccines for a virus that no one knew the cure for until the end of the movie. Carolyn met with President Fitzhugh and informed him that she got a tipabout what was happening with the assassination attempt and went to help the president. She went on to say that Buck was right about the scientists being in America and they were able to track the communications to a power plant outside Washington that she, Chris and others investigated earlier. Carolyn explained that her husband Eric was a reporterand got too close to finding the truth, and he called Carolyn and told her what he found. Eric then decided shortly after the vanishings, and Carolyn was told that he fell off a ferry (but was really murdered). Carolyn talked to VP Mallory after her husband’s death and the VP got her a job working for Nicolae and the militia so she could figure out what was going on. President Fitzhugh and Carolyn (by themselves) broke into the power plant, and they found the lab filled with scientists in white hazmat suits who were spraying the green virus gas on the Bibles so the Christians who received the Bibles would get sick and die. The duo took out some of the heavily armed guards with their guns and they escaped with their lives. Later on, President Fitzhugh seemed upset that he helped Nicolae become a global Hitler. Ray’s ex female friend, Hattie, who was now one of Nicolae’s many lovers, came onto Ray and tried to get him to admit that he loved her and wanted to be with her again. Ray refused to say it or kiss Hattie, so the scorned woman said she would tell Nicolae that Ray and Amanda were secretly Christians and Amanda had a Bible stashed away. Reverend Bruce got the virus himself and then he had a dream that he was given water by masked Nicolae, who told him that everybody left because God wasn’t there to save them. In reality the sick infected with the virus and had high fevers and respiratory issues were being cared for on multiple beds at a mock hospital setup. President Fitzhugh was taken to an underground facility communicate and plan with the British Prime Minister Walsh and Egyptian President Pasha that Carolyn and her people had setup. Walsh informed Fitzhugh that Nicolae encouraged the countries to give up their weapons so now he could use them against the countries, starting with the USA. They (foreigners) hacked the information from the Global satellite and found out that the target cities were Chicago, New York and Washington. Ray and Amanda told Buck that Chloe and Bruce were where God put them at the sick shelter, and Buck wanted to go be with them but Ray and Amanda discouraged him not to go to Chicago. Instead the trio started praying to find out what God wanted Buck to do but Buck was interrupted by a call from President Fitzhugh. He gave Buck the updates and how the SAS planned to destroy the virus factory. In Chicago, after Chloe received the information from her family in another state, she told Bruce that the source of the virus was the poisoned Bibles, and Bruce was very upset because the reverend unknowingly spread the infection by putting the Bibles in the hands of the people. Chloe reassured Bruce that it wasn’t his fault and they sang together. Reverend Bruce spoke about seeing Abraham in his delirious fevered mind and the message “stand still and wait upon the Lord”which Buck received that message from the reverend when Buck picked up his own Bible and had an instant vision of Bruce. Buck announced that he was staying and not going to Chicago because that was what God wanted him to do and help the President. Captain Ray and Amanda planned to secretly take one of Nicolae’s planes to Chicago to save Chloe and Bruce. Hattie tried to stop them, and Amanda pointed out that Hattie was hiding a secret and Hattie confirmed she was three months pregnant with Nicolae’s child (no doubt she wanted to seduce Ray and claim the child as his earlier). Hattie insisted that her life was there with Nicolae and she couldn’t leave because he would hunt her down even though Nicolae had a harem of women. Hattie added that she didn’t turn Ray in, and Amanda gave Hattie a gift of her white colored Bible hidden wrapped in a scarf. President Fitzhugh returned to the Oval Office to find Nicolae there in his chair, and he questioned Fitzhugh about what he was doing and thought Fitzhugh looked different that day and was hiding something. Later on, at Carolyn’s secret underground operation center, President Fitzhugh informed the British and Egyptian authorities that their number one priority was to kill Nicolae, and if that didn’t work their backup plan was to strike the USA. Fitzhugh showed everyone (including the foreign leaders) his new toys, which included an undetectable porcelain gun to kill Nicolae and a transponder that communicated with three satellites and could send a missile somewhere within a minute. Inside the lobby of Nicolae’s building, An agent on the good side of Fitzhugh whispered to himself that he should have gone with Fitzhugh and helped him confront Nicolae. The agent was shot dead by his coworker. Someone had messed with Fitzhugh’s transponder and it got into Nicolae’s hands and was no longer in the President’s jacket pocket. Nicolae showed Fitzhugh the TV reports of World War III beginning with explosions around the world, militia nuclear strikes around the US with Washington, Chicago and New York all under fire, and the GC forces engaging with the militia terrorists. News reported that Warrants for the arrest of President Fitzhugh, Walsh and Pasha were put out. Nicolae believed that the way everything came together would make him look even more like a savior wanting world peace when he was actually the cause of the destruction and the news media made Nicolae’s evil ungodly success possible. President Fitzhugh shot at Nicolae and the bullets went right through him and killed Nicolae’s employee behind Nicolae. Nicolae used mind control on Fitzhugh to make him put the gun to his head, put his hands around his own throat and levitate off the ground. President Fitzhugh was then thrown out the window and landed on top of a car many stories down. Nicolae couldn’t believe that Fitzhugh was still alive. At Carolyn’s underground facility, Brit Walsh was disconnected from communication as the USA was under bloody attack, including that facility. Carolyn told Egyptian Pasha that they had to strike guerilla-style and not let Nicolae win. Pasha replied that Fitzhugh betrayed them, but then President Fitzhugh appeared and explained that Nicolae deceived them and wanted everyone to start the war so he could take over. Fitzhugh added that he shot Nicolae three feet away, but Nicolae was not killed or even wounded and the bullets hit the agent behind him. Chloe called Buck to tell him that Bruce was dying and she had the virus, and Buck believed he should be there with his wife instead of helpless in his apartment as World War III happened. Chloe then fainted and lost connection with Buck, and he was angry with God. Pasha didn’t believe that Fitzhugh was thrown out of the office window, and foreigner Pasha was irate that USA President Fitzhugh wasn’t able to kill Nicolae at such close range and the Egyptian claimed that if he was there he would shoot Fitzhugh for lying. Carolyn convincingly made Fitzhugh look bad in front of the leader of the other country like the President set them all up and put on a grand act so Pasha wouldn’t trust the US president. Later on, President Fitzhugh asked for help and he got a call on his phone. Ray and Amanda went to see Bruce in Chicago, and Bruce told Ray to be strong for his infected daughter on the cot next to him. Fitzhugh ended up in the Oval Office with the White House was on fire. Buck appeared with President Fitzhugh and tried to convert Fitzhugh to Christianity before he died. He explained that God became a man and called Himself Jesus Christ, and He died on the cross for the sins of the president and everyone else. Jesus rose from the dead and defeated hell, and ascended to heaven offering eternal life to anyone who accepted Jesus as his or her savior. Buck told Fitzhugh to put his faith in Jesus and sin no more, and in Jesus’ name as the two men prayed for God’s guidance and forgiveness. Reverend Bruce asked Ray for Communion (wine and bread) one last time since his time was near, and Bruce got his wish and then the reverend died. Fitzhugh made plans to take out Nicolae’s command center to fix the problem he created that killed millions of people. Fitzhugh sent Buck out to convert others to Christianity as he did President Fitzhugh. Fitzhugh entered the GC building invisible to the guards, and he overheard Nicolae speaking to the Russians and Chinese on a zoom like screen (in the foreign languages) and planned to send them the launch codes. Fitzhugh secretly called Carolyn on her cell phone so she could hear his conversation with Nicolae to clear the president’s name and prove he wasn’t a traitor (but she did not record the conversation for others to hear and could throw the President under the bus if she had ulterior motives). Fitzhugh told Nicolae that the only way to defeat him was to accept Jesus Christ, and that upset the Antichrist and he replied that Jesus would never have any power over him in this lifetime or any other. The missile that Fitzhugh had launched a minute earlier then arrived and destroyed the building and killing all inside, including Nicolae and President Fitzhugh. Chloe, Ray and Amanda all drank from the same Communion wine cup as Bruce wanted. Chloe then realized that the wine made her able to breathe and was the cure, and so she called her husband Buck and told him that red wine was the cure to the virus. Buck planned to go to Chicago, and he met up with Carolyn on the way. The movie ended with devil Nicolae walking out of the flames unharmed (robot alien).

REASON: This movie is about Donna Jensen, who was from a small town called Silver Springs, Nevada. Donna’s mom was an ex-showgirl, and her dad was an alcoholic biker who only came by Donna’s birthday party for beer. Donna wished to someday get out of Silver Springs, but she was still living there as she grew up and was in high school. By then her mom had married Pete, her fourth husband, who brought along a dimwitted teenage son named Rodney. Donna started dating Tommy Boulay the high school quarterback, and they made out passionately behind the bleachers on school property with her in her very short cheer leading skirt. Tommy was the assistant manager at Big Lots and was able to get Donna a job, but then Tommy broke up with Donna in her birthday card and told her he was taking Brenda from BBQ, another employee, with him to Tucson for his Big Lots promotion and transfer, because Donna was too small town in her ways. Donna went to the bar and watched Pure Oxygen, where Sally Weston spoke. Sally was a small-town Texas girl who was now a famous flight attendant and author of “My Life in the Sky.” Donna realized then that being a flight attendant was her calling and her chance to get out of Silver Springs, so she bought Sally’s book as Sally told everyone to buy the book in order to find out how they too could get everything they ever wanted in life. Donna then applied for a stewardess job serving gamblers and drunk at the small local Sierra Airlines. She took to heart the motto “big hair, short skirts and service with a smile,” and wore a revealing work uniform. Sherry, the other stewardess, showed Donna the ropes, and then Donna met Steve Bench the copilot who would be flying since the captain was asleep in the cockpit. Donna had never been on a plane before, and she was freaked out by the turbulence and thought they were crashing so she screamed and jumped out of her chair and that made the passengers very uneasy and worried. Donna was worried that she would get fired, and Steve gave her a pep talk and assured Donna she was not going to be fired. Donna’s work improved and she took on Christine Montgomery as a newly hired trainee. Donna, Christine and Sherry spent weekends tanning on Lake Havasu, a houseboat owned by Sherry’s boyfriend, Herb. Ted Stewart, the lake patrol officer, came around to retrieve the flare gun that he lent Herb. He walked in on Donna fixing the clasp on her bikini, and he helped her using a bread tie. Ted then took Donna and Christine on a tour in his lake patrol boat. Christine said she quit high school and asked Ted to put lotion on her body, and Ted explained that he was from Cleveland, Ohio, quit his last semester at law school and became lake patrol. Ted then asked Donna out on a date. One day, three first-class stewardesses were forced to stop at Sierra to refuel, and Donna and her girlfriends were jealous that the other flight attendants were in the big time air travel market and traveled to Rome, London and New York. Donna talked Sherry and Christine into going on a road trip to the Marriot Hotel in San Francisco to attend a job fair for Royalty Airlines. They interviewed with John Whitney, and young Donna and young Christine got the job but older Sherry didn’t. After their dinner date, Donna and Ted shook hands goodbye and didn’t want to kiss and start something before she left for Texas to attend the Royalty Learning Center. Donna was excited to learn that her idol Sally would mentor them in Texas. The trainees were then invited to dinner with Sally and her husband Jack at their royally huge residence, and Randy Jones (gay) part of the flight steward training wanted to be considered one of the girls. Sally advised Donna to follow her head and not her heart, and she showed Donna her old Royalty uniform in her massive closet and had Donna memorize Paris, first-class international to get her through. Sally told Donna she had to learn the languages of the cities she wished to travel to in order to work international flights. Donna set a record during training and encouraged Christine to follow through with the training even though she didn’t think she could do it. Donna then discovered that Christine took some of the guest soaps from Sally’s bathroom shaped like airplanes and reminded Christine that she could get fired for stealing but didn’t rat her friend out. The trainees then graduated, and Christine was weirdly placed in high class New York while Donna (honor student) and Randy were sent to the measly Cleveland Hopkins International Airport for a commuter job. Donna told John that she was the top of the class and it was unfair that she didn’t get New York. John informed Donna that she could work in Cleveland for a year and then she would be eligible to apply and transfer to a different area, and added that Sally had no authority in the matter. In her Ohio downtime, Donna started learning French so she could get international flights. At a café around the corner from her apartment, Donna ran into Ted, and he announced that he went back to law school so he could finish. The two of them moved in together to occupy their time so he could get through school and she could get through her year of Ohio service. They continued living together without committing or planning a long-term future for them to be together. Ted took a second job as a pizza guy to pay for college so Donna ordered pizza everything night so Ted could stop by the apartment to deliver it and they could have sex. Randy was crushing on a male passenger aboard one of the flights, and Donna reminded Randy that it was against policy to date passengers. Randy threatened to not let Donna do his paperwork if she ratted him out. Randy added that if Donna didn’t fall in love with Ted she could have her dream and see the world, and she said that she didn’t fall in love with Randy because he was gay and he insisted that it still took willpower for her not to. Donna met Ted’s family at Christmas, and he gave Donna a watch with two time zones and the family gave Donna the family Christmas uniform of a red sweater. Donna told Ted that she liked his family but she was uncomfortable being around a family that didn’t argue and hate on each other. Christine’s flight was down and she stopped in Cleveland one day, so she hung out with Donna and Ted. She revealed that she wasn’t following the rules according to the manual and she was stealing from the airline flights Chanel perfume and mini alcohol bottles that the trio then used for shots that night. Repeat offender Christine had pilot wings that she gave to Ted as a gift in her handbag of klepto merchandise. Donna had trouble sleeping after that, and she knew it was a mistake that Christine got New York when Donna was a better candidate. Donna went to see Sally, who said mistakes weren’t possible because everything was hand-graded. John refused to let Donna or Sally see the test when Donna asked. That made Sally all fired up so Sally called John Whitney and told Donna as she did that she (Sally) scared the hell out of Dr. Phil and called the questionable man a wiener when she was on Oprah. Donna’s test was immediately faxed over to Sally on her private fax, and that’s when Donna noticed that all the “i’s” had been dotted with “hearts,” which was Christine’s writing. Donna realized that Christine changed the assigned student numbers on their tests when Donna gave her paper to Christine to hand in to John, Christine changed the numbers with her pencil quickly, so Christine got the better New York job meant for the employee with the better test result. Sally agreed to get Donna retested and told Donna she had to make a decision about Ted. Sally put out a code blue on Christine around the airlines and had a ghost rider watch the klepto on her flights and arrest her if she stole anything. Ted came home and announced that he was top of his law class, and that’s when Donna explained that she was leaving to retake her test in Dallas and might not be back. Ted was upset and told Donna that he loved her and she didn’t say it back but just left Ohio. Donna went to testing in a half-shirt and handed her paper in to John herself. He informed her that she got a perfect score and John was the last person to do that seven years ago. Christine showed up at the airport and was able to confront Donna on a plane about to be boarded. Christine told Donna that she got fired, and Christine knew that Donna was behind it so she physically cat fight attacked Donna. The police dragged Christine out, and criminal Christine then spit in the officers’ face and gave Donna the middle finger. Donna liked her first-class job and ended up in Paris and other countries around the world. She returned to her New York apartment when back home, and she attended parties at her friends’ 123 Clinton house. Donna saw in the newspaper that Ted became an associate at Sobieski and Flynn law firm. Donna spent Christmas in Paris. Sally was at the airport for her return journey to the USA and spotted Donna. Sally and Jack spend Christmas in Paris and New Year’s in New York. Sally told Donna that she misread her book and Sally didn’t tell her that she had to choose between her man and her career since she needed a copilot to make life easier. Sally and Donna worked together to get Donna back to Cleveland to see Ted while Sally covered her flight attendant job on the flight from Paris to New York(since Sally and her husband were going to NY anyway). Donna went to Ted’s house, where Ted’s elder grandmother didn’t remember who she was. Donna professed her love to Ted and they made amends, and she assured him that she would be happy to stay there with him forever. The movie ended with Donna in the cockpit of a plane after she became a pilot and was employed by the airline with a base in Cleveland, because Sally showed Donna how to be on top. This movie had a budget of $30 million and grossed over $19 million at the box office. The movie cover art listed, Ebert & Roeper, “Two thumbs up!” Richard Roeper, Ebert & Roeper, “A lot of fun!” FOX-TV, “A first-class comedy!”

REASON: This cartoon movie is based on a true story and takes place at Christmastime in New York City in 1897. Young Virginia O’Hanlon (8-year-old) and her younger male friend Ollie that she often babysat, left the house alone to go see the man standing on the NY street corner collecting money for the poor, because Ollie (5-6 year-old) was adamant that the man in disguise was the real Santa. The adult man on the big apple busy street, that appeared homeless, admitted that he was just Scraggly Santa. Ollie’s dad speaking fluent Italiancalled for his son to come back home. Later on, mean girl Charlotte told Virginia, Ollie and the other kids (young kids alone playing on the streets without parents) that they were immature for still believing in Santa Claus because Santa wasn’t real and it was inhumanly possible for him to do all the things he did according to legend. Charlotte threw Virginia’s pop-up Santa art book that Virginia made about Santa and family into a puddle and flounced off telling the young kids like her to grow up and realize that Santa wasn’t real. The Believe Meter on a clock tower like Big Ben (like the Care Bear meter) in the city started going down when people stopped believing in Santa. Virginia and Ollie went to the library to prove that Santa was real, and the librarian helped them find books and learn that Santa was all over the world with different names and different means of transportation so the librarian commented that made Santa real since he was all over history and virtually everywhere around the world. Virginia went back to see Scraggly Santa, and he had given his coat to a woman with a baby because she needed it more than he did since New York at the CHRISTmas time of year when We The People in HIS USA celebrate the birth of GOD’s child, Jesus, is freezing cold. Virginia asked her dad, Dr. Philip, if Santa was real. Robotically, Dr. Philip said that Santa must be real because the cookies were gone and Virginia got presents every year. Virginia wasn’t satisfied with her dad’s answer so the young girl decided that she would write to the New York Sunand ask the news people if Santa was real because according to Dr. Phillip, the newspaper never lied. Francis Church (his dad was a Baptist minister), the editor of the Sun, put the little girl Virginia’s letter in the trash and told his assistant Louie that they would lose their credibility as a truthful, factual newspaper if they reported that Santa existed just to satisfy a child. Virginia asked her mom Laura, and Laura explained that the proof of Santa’s existence was in the kind things people did for others less fortunate than themselves because those were things that Santa would do (but in reality those are the things that Jesus would do and what JesUS taught). Virginia used her piggy bank money then to buy a new Santa coat for Scraggly Santa and presented the stranger man on the street ringing his bell with it as she again babysat Ollie. Charlotte, who had found Virginia’s letter in the trashcan outside the Sun newspaper office, then appeared and gave Virginia the ruined letter. Virginia was upset and ran home, where she cried and tore down the red, white, and green Holiday decorations in her room. Scraggly Santa left little Ollie alone on the street to ring the bell and collect money while Scraggly Santa, who used to work at the Sun, brought the letter back to Francis. He told Francis that it was a gift and he could bring hope to the city and “give everyone something to believe in” that Christmas and generations to come if he answered the letter and identified Santa as being real. The next morning, lil’ Ollie, without a parent, brought Virginia and her parents the newspaper at their home. Francis finally put money in Scraggly Santa’s money bucket on the busy street, and the Believe Meter went way up as everyone around town read the front-page article that Francis decided to write in answer to Virginia’s question. Francis told Virginia that yes, there was a Santa Claus, and he was as real as Virginia and existed as surely as love, generosity, devotion did. Francis the newspaper editor had used God in the editor’s own way and to boost sales and told everyone that HE was thankful that Santa lived forever because there was nothing else as real and abiding as Santa and the world would be a terrible place without him. A miracle maker man who looked like Santa then stopped in to give Virginia her fully restored pop-up book. The movie cover art listed, USA Today, “Like Santa himself, Virginia should be a welcome Christmas visitor for years to come.”

TITLE:  Oliver and Company

BOX OFFICE RATED: G (This is not suitable for GOD’s children.)

PRODUCTION YEAR: 1988  Walt Disney Pictures / Walt Disney Feature Animation / Silver Screen Partners III / Buena Vista Pictures Distribution

RATING [1 LEAST FAVORITE TO 5 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED]: 1

REASON: This cartoon movie is based on the Oliver Twist novel and takes place in New York City. A passerby on the streets of NY spotted a litter of orphaned kittens abandoned inside a box and took them in and then adopted the felines out. Oliver was the last kitten left and nobody wanted to adopt him, so he struck out on his own. Dodger, the street-smart stray terrier, used Oliver to steal hot dogs from Old Louie’s vendor. Dodger refused to share the food with Oliver, so he followed Dodger to the barge where, his gang of dogs (Tito the Mexican Chihuahua, Einstein the Great Dane, Francis the British bulldog who likes Shakespeare and Rita the Saluki) lived with their owner Fagin. Fagin owed money to Bill Sykes, the shipyard agent, so Bill gave Fagin three days to pay off his debt otherwise Sykes would hurt Fagin. Sykes’ two vicious Doberman Pinschers named Roscoe and Desoto then ganged up on Fagin’s dogs and tried to attack Oliver. The dogs defended their cat chum, and the Dobermans left but planned to be back later. Sykes accepted Oliver as a new member of his group. The next day, Fagin sent the dogs out to teach Oliver their ways and earn some cash. Francis pretended to be hit by a car, and the driver, Winston, was worried about Francis. While he was distracted, Tito bit through the wires in the car. However, Oliver interrupted Tito and he got electrocuted. Winston was the butler for the wealthy Foxworth family, and young Jenny Foxworth decided to take Oliver home. Winston was skeptical and didn’t think that Jenny’s parents, who were currently in Rome and wouldn’t be back in time for Jenny’s birthday, would approve of Oliver but they did and let Jenny keep the kitten. Georgette was the Foxworths’ pedigree pampered poodle that had won many blue ribbons and trophies and believed she was perfect. She was jealous of all the attention Oliver was getting so she plotted to get rid of him. Dodger and the dogs thought that Oliver was in danger and was being tortured, so they snuck into the house and locked Winston out. The mongrels in her room offended georgette, but once she learned that they wanted Oliver back she happily gave him up. However, Oliver was upset and told the dog gang that he wanted to go back to his new home with Jenny because she loved him. Dodger angrily told Oliver to leave. Fagin saw Oliver’s collar had a 5thAvenue address, and realized that Oliver’s owner was a very rich person. Fagin wrote a note and a map for Oliver’s owner and left it outside the Foxworth house. Jenny found it and was upset to learn that Fagin was holding Oliver for ransom and would hurt the cat if he didn’t get the money he was demanding. Young Jenny (7-8 year old) decided that she would try to rescue Oliver herself, so she and Georgette set out. Fagin went to see Sykes without the money, and Sykes wasn’t happy about it so Bill let Roscoe and Desoto attack and injure Dodger. Sykes then decided that Fagin’s plan was a good one and gave him 12 hours to get the cash. Jenny couldn’t read the terrible map and got lost, and when she encountered Fagin she told him her story about how a cruel person stole her innocent kitten. Jenny brought along her piggy bank to get Oliver back, and then Fagin’s conscience got to him and he decided to give Oliver back to Jenny by pretending to suddenly find the lost kitten. Bill Sykes watched and kidnapped Jenny, and he took her to his office and tied her up. Oliver, Georgette and the other dogs went to rescue Jenny, and they knocked on the door for a pizza delivery. Sykes left the office to check it out, and Georgette distracted Roscoe and Desoto while the dogs helped save Jenny. Sykes almost caught them, but then Fagin appeared on his scooter and they all sped off. Sykes chased after them in his limo, and they drove down the train tracks in the subway. Jenny got stuck on top of the limo and Sykes almost grabbed her, but she was able to jump onto Fagin’s scooter. Roscoe and Desoto went after Oliver, but Dodger fought them off. Fagin swerved off the tracks just seconds before colliding with an oncoming train, and Sykes hit the train and went up in flames. Oliver was injured in the process and Jenny thought he was dead but was happy to find that he was alive. Winston, Fagin, Oliver and the dogs threw a birthday party for Jenny, and Jenny’s parents called to say they would be back from Italy the following day (after her birthday). Tito wanted to date Georgette, but he ran away when she tried to give him a bath and dress him up in outfits. The dogs left to go home, and Dodger told Oliver that there was a vice president position open for him in the gang if he wanted it. This movie had a budget of $31 million and grossed over $121 million (per online) at the box office.

TITLE:  Titanic

BOX OFFICE RATED: PG-13 (This is not suitable for GOD’s children.)

PRODUCTION YEAR: 1997 Paramount Pictures / 20thCentury Fox / Lightstorm Entertainment

RATING [1 LEAST FAVORITE TO 5 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED]: 1

REASON: This movie began with a modern-day treasure hunting crew, led by Brock Lovett, on the Russian ship Keldysh using an underwater camera robot to investigate the Titanic, which sank to the bottom of the North Atlantic on April 15, 1912 in route to New York City from England. The crew had been searching for a 56-carat diamond necklace called the Heart of the Ocean that was worth more than the Hope Diamond, but they couldn’t find it among the ruins of the ship. They collected relics and a shocking, perfectly preserved drawing dated April 14, 1912, which depicted a naked woman wearing the diamond. An elderly woman named Rose Dawson-Calvert saw the broadcast on TV and called Brock to tell him that she was Rose Dewitt Bukater, the woman in the picture who was thought to have died on Titanic at age 17. Rose and her granddaughter Lizzy were flown out to the Keldysh, and the crew believed that Rose was a liar seeking publicity because she would be almost 101 years old if she was who she said she was. The Heart of the Ocean, also called the Blue Diamond of the Crown, was worn by Louis XVI until he was beheaded and then the diamond was recut into a heart shape. Supposedly Caledon Hockley bought the Heart for his fiancée Rose Dewitt Bukater before they sailed on Titanic, and shortly after it sunk Caledon’s father Nathan, a steel tycoon whose steel was used to build the ship, filed an insurance claim on the diamond so Brock was adamant that it went down with Titanic. They recovered some of the items from Rose’s room onboard, and she was upset by them but agreed to share her survival story from 84 years ago on tape. Titanic was a Royal Mail carrier and passenger steamer designed by J. Bruce Ismay and built by Thomas Andrews, and at the time it was the largest ship in the world and was said to be unsinkable. J.P Morgan and Milton Hershey bought tickets (among others) but never boarded the massive Titanic ship. However, 17-year-old Rose Dewitt, her mother Ruth Dewitt and Rose’s fiancé Caledon Hockley boarded Titanic along with 2200 other people. It was Rose’s maiden voyage to New York as Rose was to be wed in Philadelphia. Young Jack Dawson and his Italian friend Fabrizio played poker with the two Swedes named Olaf and Sven, and Jack got a full house and won two Titanic tickets. Jack and Fabrizio were thrilled to board Titanic and go to America (Jack return to America where he was from). Rose was bored by the mindless first-class social gatherings and unhappy with her engagement, so teen Rose planned to take her life by jumping off the ship into the freezing water. Jack saw her and talked her out of it, and then Rose slipped on the railing and almost fell. The crewmen heard Rose’s screams and came to help, and by the time they got there Jack was on top of Rose on the deck after having pulled her to safety. They thought Jack tried to rape Rose, so they arrested him but released him when Rose told them that she almost fell when she was trying to look at the propellers and Jack saved her. Caledon was angry with Jack but invited him to dinner that night. Caledon gave Rose the Heart of the Ocean to cheer her up and convince her to tell him her troubles. Jack told Rose that his story was that he left Wisconsin after his parents died when he was 15 and since then he had been all over the place. Jack asked Rose if she loved Caledon, and she evaded the question and refused to answer it. She looked at Jack’s book of realistic human drawings, including some nudes of a Parisian prostitute. Jack taught Rose how to spit loogies like a man, and when Ruth and the other women saw, they were shocked at that sight. Ruth immediately didn’t like Jack upon or his homeless wandering ways. Ismay pressured Captain Edward John Smith into traveling faster than he wanted to go so the press would have something to talk about. Margaret “Molly” Brown, whose husband recently made a fortune from gold in the West, lent Jack her son’s tuxedo to wear to dinner with the elites. Jack snuck Rose a note telling her to meet him at the clock, and then he took her to the quarters of the lower-class passengers where they danced to lively music and drank. Caledon had employed Spicer Lovejoy to spy on Rose and Jack, and Lovejoy reported back to Caledon. Caledon then smashed things, upended tables and screamed at Rose to never behave like that again. Ruth then forbid Rose to see Jack again and told her to keep her eyes on Caledon because the marriage into his wealthy family was the only way for Rose’s family not to lose what they had because Rose’s deceased father left them in debt and they didn’t have as much money as others thought. Jack tried to talk to Rose during church led by Catholic Father Thomas Byles, but Lovejoy wouldn’t allow it and had Jack escorted back to his room. Jack later found Rose and wanted to know if she would be all right resigned to her fate because she claimed that she did love Caledon. She said she would be fine, but then she changed her mind and Rose joined Jack on the bow of the ship at sunset where they kissed. Captain Smith was given icebergs warnings, but he decided to go faster. Rose took Jack to her room and asked him to draw her completely naked wearing the Heart of the Ocean. Caledon sent Lovejoy to find Rose, and he chased after Rose and Jack so they ran and hid. Rose and Jack then had sex in the back of a carriage and were out of there by the time people came around looking for them. The lookouts spotted an iceberg in the ship’s path, and since Captain Smith wasn’t there they tried to turn it themselves but they hit the side of the iceberg. They told the passengers that there was no emergency, but Rose and Jack overheard what was going on and went to tell Caledon. He had returned to the room and found Jack’s newest drawing in the safe, so Caledon instructed Lovejoy to put the Heart of the Ocean in Jack’s pocket. Caledon reported the diamond missing and had Jack searched, and the diamond was immediately found so Jack was arrested. Rose kept her silence and refused to say that Jack didn’t do it. The crew realized that there was nothing they could do because five compartments were flooded and Titanic would definitely sink headfirst within two hours. Caledon slapped Rose and called her a slut, and then all passengers were told to put their lifebelts on. Captain Smith put out a distress call, but the rescue team couldn’t get there for four hours. Rose asked Thomas Andrews what was going on, and he explained the situation and told Rose and Caledon to get to the boats as fast as they could. Lovejoy, armed with a gun, handcuffed Jack to a pole inside one of the rooms, took the handcuff key and left. The orchestra band members continued playing out on the deck to keep the passengers calm, and the women and children were loaded onto the boats first. Andrews had wanted extra boats on the deck in case of emergency, but others thought that it was unsightly and would clutter the appearance of the ship so they decided against Andrews and only brought along a few boats and not enough for all the passengers on board in the event of a disaster. That meant there weren’t enough boats for everyone and at least half of the passengers, most being third class, would die. Rose decided to go and find Jack instead of leaving on a boat with Ruth. Caledon tried to stop Rose, but she told him that she would rather be Jack’s whore than Caledon’s wife and she spit in his face. Andrews gave Rose directions to the E deck where the prisoners were held, and she ordered to be taken down in the lift even though it was closed. The E deck was starting to flood, but Rose was able to find Jack and apologized for not speaking up on his behalf earlier because she knew he didn’t steal the diamond. Rose searched for a spare kay but couldn’t find one, so she went to find someone. A crewman tried to drag Rose up to the deck with the others and not listen to her cries for help, so she punched the man and he ran off with a bloody nose. Rose took the emergency axe and swam back to Jack as the water level rose, and she was able to cut Jack’s handcuffs. When the passengers finally realized what was going on, chaos and pandemonium broke out. The crew wouldn’t let the crowds through to the top deck, so Jack, Fabrizio and their Irish friend Tommy Ryan broke the gate down. Caledon gave a wad of cash money to First Officer William Murdoch for him to get rid of Jack, and Caledon lied to Jack that Murdoch arranged for the two of them to board another boat to safety. Rose didn’t want to go anywhere without Jack, and he insisted but then Rose got off the small boat at the last moment and ran back to Jack. Caledon was infuriated and shot at Jack and Rose and ran them down until he ran out of bullets. Jack and Rose escaped the madman, and then Caledon told Lovejoy that he gave Rose his jacket with the diamond in it (where Caledon put it). Rose and Jack ran into a locked gate and begged a crewman to unlock it for them, and he tried to but dropped the keys and ran off to try and save his own life. Jack was able to get the keys and unlock the gate just seconds before the water level rose to the ceiling. Murdoch threw Caledon’s money back at him, and Murdoch waved around his gun threatening to shoot anyone who tried to get past him onto the boats. He shot Tommy dead, so then Murdoch shot himself in the head because the whole ordeal was too much to bear. Caledon grabbed a helpless child and claimed that she was his daughter so he could board a boat and get to safety. Andrews and Captain Smith stayed behind and didn’t even try to get out. Catholic Father Byles prayed as the orchestra played their last song “Nearer My God To Thee.” The Titanic then split in half, and the passengers tried to climb to the very top of the ship as it was upended but most of them fell while others jumped into the ice-cold water. A crewman got electrocuted and all the lights on the ship went out, and then it sunk completely. Rose and Jack got separated but found each other again in the freezing water, and Jack encouraged Rose to swim to something and hold onto it so she wouldn’t drown amongst the panicking crowd. Molly Brown, who was on a boat with Ruth, tried to tell a crew member to go back because there was room for more people but the lead man said not and nobody else wanted to help. Another boat decided to go back, but they waited too long and most everyone froze to death, including babies. Jack made Rose promise that she would fight to stay alive and never give up, and then Jack died and Rose let him go. Rose could hardly feel her body, but she was able to swim over to a dead man and use his whistle to call to the boat just as it was leaving with no survivors. Rose was rescued by Lowe’s boat. Rose and the 700 survivors on the boats were brought to safety on another ship where they struggled to find their family members. Caledon went on to marry and inherit millions, but he lost it all in the Great Depression and shot himself dead. Upon arrival in New York City, Rose told people that her name was Rose Dawson. Rose told Brock and the others that 1,500 out of 2,200 people died, and one out of 20 boats only the one came back to help the others in the water. Six people, including Rose, were pulled alive from the water. The movie ended with Elderly Rose going out onto the bow of the Keldysh (Russian ship) and then dropped the Heart of the Ocean gemstone into the water for her lover Jack. She then seemed to have passed away in her sleep and found herself on the restored Titanic kissing Jack and surrounded by all the ghosts of the passengers approving of the teen romance. This movie had a budget of $200 million and grossed over $2.2 billion at the box office. The movie cover art stated the movie was the winner of 11 academy awards including best flick.

TITLE:  Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever

BOX OFFICE RATED: G (This is not suitable for GOD’s children.)

PRODUCTION YEAR: 2014  Lifetime Pictures  cable TV / Grumpy Cat LTD / Lionsgate / A+E Networks

RATING [1 LEAST FAVORITE TO 5 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED]: 1

REASON: This movie takes place at Christmastime and began at the Louieton Mall in Ohio, where a talking, evil-loving cat named Grumpy Cat lived in the Whiskers pet shop. Grumpy cat had been returned to the pet store twice by different people who bought her back because all she did was frown and be grumpy, looked morbid and depressed. Gill Brockman, the new mall rep, called the Whiskers owner Marcus Crabtree a deadbeat and loser for not paying his bills. Gill threatened to evict Marcus so a chicken restaurant could be put in Whiskers’ place, and Marcus claimed that he was in possession of Jo-Jo, the world’s most famous pedigree Leonberger dog from Germany, and he planned to sell Jo-Jo for $1 million to save Whiskers. Marcus put Jo-Jo in the front window for all to see and showed him off to the press. Zach and Donny, two feuding band members tight on money, planned to steal Jo-Jo. 12-year-old Crystal, who Grumpy believed was an evolved organism with a heart of gold, volunteered at the pet shop. Crystal tried to ask three popular girls to start a study group with her, and they sarcastically said they didn’t need to and Grumpy cat hoped the girls married rich because they were dumb. Crystal was down in the dumps after that and Grumpy thought she needed a caramel macchiato. Crystal met the Santa Claus from Westbrook Mall who was helping out around Louieton while Roger, the regular Santa, was picking his mom up from the airport for Christmas. The other Santa gave Crystal a Christmas coin and told her to make a wish on it and throw it in a fountain (or a toilet bowl in a pinch), and Crystal was skeptical but she threw the coin in the wishing well and wished for a friend she could depend on. She then went to the pet shop, where Marcus showed her Jo-Jo and explained that he was going to save Whiskers because Marcus failed to take care of the pet shop after his wife died. Crystal was able to hear Grumpy saying that it was a sob story and Grumpy wanted to be put to sleep with the gas rather than hear Marcus tell the story again. Crystal realized that her wish came true and Grumpy was her new friend, and then Crystal figured out something was up with the other Santa because Roger was still at the mall and hadn’t left and he said Westbrook was closed for renovations. Later that night, Crystal (in her ripped jeans) left the Christmas party that Jesse, one of the mall elves who liked Crystal’s mom, invited them both to. Crystal did not tell her mom she was leaving either and snuck out while her mom was distracted with a new man in her life. Crystal’s dad divorced her mom so he could marry a barista. Crystal stole Marcus’s keys to the pet shop and snuck in the mall after hours to see Grumpy. At the same time, adults Zack and Donny tied up George, the mall security officer inside the mall who usually spent his free time hitting on women. They used pepper spray and took the keys so they could dognap Jo-Jo. Tween Crystal hid and saw what happened, and she took Donny’s car keys that he left behind so the criminals could not get away. Crystal tried to convince Grumpy to help her stop the bad guys, and Grumpy only agreed when she thought about how Marcus might throw her out on the street if Whiskers closed and Grumpy would eventually be euthanized at the animal shelter. Donny and Zack argued when they found the keys missing and said they hated each other. They went back to retrieve them and chased after young Crystal, and she ran with Grumpy. Crystal shot the bad guys with a paintball gun, and Donny tried to go after her with an arrow but he ended up shooting himself in the foot. Crystal threw the dangerous men’s car keys in the fountain. Gill found Jo-Jo running loose and tried to take him, and Donny and Zack thought Gill was the paintball culprit so they tackled him to the ground, punched him and then held him over the second story railing threatening to drop him. Gill promised to look the other way and not say anything about the bad guys being there because he didn’t hit them with paintballs, and Donny and Zack realized that Gill didn’t have any paint on his hands so he was telling the truth about not being involved. They tied Gill up. Crystal found George in his office and freed him, and they couldn’t call the police because George claimed that Donny and Zack pulled out the phone lines then hit George and took his phone. However, George’s phone then rang because he still had it and George the mall security guard was revealed to be the scheming mastermind. George demanded to have the car keys, so Crystal kicked him in the crotch and ran. George then met up with Donny and Zack, and he scolded them for trying to steal Jo-Jo because George sent them out to get him enough money for a down payment on a house for his upcoming retirement but the minions decided to go for something worth more. Crystal was cornered by George, Donny and Zack, and they tied the girl up in the pet store and explained that they planned to hold Jo-Jo for ransom and have Marcus pay for him. George explained that he had been plotting out how to break the law while he rode around on his scooter pretending to enforce the law. George told Crystal that he wouldn’t hurt her, but he would put her best friend Grumpy in the trash compactor if he didn’t get the keys so Crystal told him they were in the wishing well. Crystal then cried and felt discouraged, so Grumpy told her that she was loved even though she didn’t feel like it and the people she thought were good turned out to be bad. Grumpy decided to adopt Crystal and put her on Team Grumpy, and then Grumpy escaped from her cage because it was unlocked. She released the other animals (Carla the snake, Jacky the Jack Russell, Wilson the cockatoo and Lance the gerbil) and they freed Crystal and then attacked George. Jacky announced that he smelled crotch and bit George there, and Grumpy hoped

that George never wanted children. George dropped his phone, and Crystal found it and used it to call her mom and tell her the situation. Crystal’s mom was shocked because she didn’t even know that Crystal wasn’t at the party and had just told Jesse that Crystal needed to go out and make friends and take some risks. Crystal said that Grumpy Cat could talk and told her mom where she was and to call the police. George found his dopey goons fishing for coins in the wishing well, and they retrieved the car keys and left to drive George to the airport. Grumpy convinced Crystal to steal the model Camaro inside the mall and use it to chase after the bad guys. Crystal’s mom and Jesse arrived just as Grumpy instructed Crystal to drive head-on towards the bad guys’ car. They swerved at the last moment, and Grumpy went flying headfirst into the Christmas tree. Crystal was afraid that Grumpy couldn’t talk anymore, but Grumpy was just messing around and could still speak. The police arrested the three criminals, and Crystal’s mom asked her if the men did anything to her. She said no and Grumpy cat joked that if the men did then that would be another story for a different Lifetime movie. Crystal introduced her mom to the talking cat, and her mom said they would get Crystal the mental health treatment she needed so Crystal dismissed it as nothing. Marcus thanked Crystal for rescuing Jo-Jo and saving Whiskers but scolded her for stealing his store keys and breaking into the store. Marcus would have docked Crystal’s salary to pay for the damages, but since he didn’t pay her any salary and she was a volunteer, he decided to award her instead and make her employee of the month. Gill was still tied up inside. The next day on Christmas morning, Crystal had the best Christmas ever when her mom surprised her with Grumpy cat and Jesse brought mama some Christmas morning coffee.

TITLE:  That’s What I Am

BOX OFFICE RATED: PG (This is not suitable for GOD’s children.)

PRODUCTION YEAR: 2011  Samuel Goldwyn Films / WWE Studios

RATING [1 LEAST FAVORITE TO 5 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED]: 1

REASON: This movie is inspired by true events and takes place in California in 1965, around the time when Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested for the assassination of JFK, NASA astronauts headed to the moon and the Americans fought the communists in the Vietnam war with a suicide attack on the grounds of the American Embassy. At Jefferson Middle School (Eagle mascot looked similar to USPS eagle), English teacher Mr. Stephen Simon read Joan of Arc to his class as the adult narrator, Andy Nichol, explained that God was sometimes cruel for giving student Stanley “Big G” (Ginger) Minor red hair, big ears and big head and an unattractive face. Mr. Simon gave the students an English assignment and the teacher paired the kids up in teams of two. The students laughed when Stanley got paired with Andy because no one wanted Stanley for a partner. Ricky Brown the bully boy on school grounds squirted water on Stanley’s crotch with a water gun to make it look like he wet his pants, while bully Sam gave Stanley’s best friend Norman Grunmeyer a wedgie and demanded cash since another kid already did Sam’s homework (Sam once put Norman’s head in the toilet and broke Norman’s tooth at school). Andy knew Mr. Simon would know if he let Stanley do the project by himself, so Andy insisted that they do the assignment together. Andy told his mom about Stanley hanging out in the Geek Corner with the other unpopular kids, and Mrs. Nichol replied that it wasn’t right to bully kids into a place like the Geek Corner where they felt comfortable and could breathe. Mrs. Nichol went on to say that Ricky Brown was always cruel boy and God didn’t see anything wrong with the way HE made Stanley in the first place. Andy’s friend, Dan Rains, saw in the paper that teacher Mr. Simon won a Pontiac GTO when he won a contest to write about how to save the world in 25 words of less. Karen “Cootie” Connor was the homeliest girl in school, and Jason believed that he was infected with Karen’s cooties when he touched her. Jason went to see Myron Stort, and everyone ran away, except Myron, because Jason touched the leper Karen Cooties. The questionable boy Myron with all the questionable answers then instructed Jason to touch Karen again in the Geek Corner and chant voodoo, “From this, the cooties came. With this, the cooties shall remain.” Jason chanted it as he whipped Karen with his jacket, until Stanley appeared and grabbed Jason. Jason found religion and prayed to the Lord Big G that he would make it out of there in one piece. Norman told Stanley to break Jason’s neck or hit him with a brick, but instead Stanley let Jason go. Stanley said he didn’t stand up to Ricky and Jason because he couldn’t make them nice people and other bullies would take their place. Norman told Mr. Simon even though he knew he would get beat up for it. Mr. Simon went into the girl’s bathroom to console Karen, who was crying and discovered sores on her body from the jacket zipper beating. Back in class, Mr. Simon then announced that Jason might end up in federal prison because the zipper on his jacket that he beat Karen with inflicted deep cuts on her and she was sent to the doctor. Mr. Simon added that he won the contest by using the four words “Human dignity + compassion = peace,” as a recipe for world peace. Mr. Simon was too emotionally upset about what happened to teach that day, so he told the students to read books and he did the same and he was not able to teach the class. Later on, Andy delivered his job newspapers on his bicycle round, and he purposefully missed at the Clear house so he could peep through the windows at Mary Clear, who he had a crush on. Mary had established herself at school as the ultimate tween make-out artist and anyone who was anyone had made out with her except for Andy. Mr. Clear knew that Andy only missed his house on purpose because he saw that every other house Andy’s newspaper aim was spot on and told Andy so. Mrs. Cranby, the assistant principal, assigned Andy little jobs and one was making copies of posters for the school talent show. Andy was shocked when he learned that Stanley was going to sing, and Norman also couldn’t believe it and swore at Stanley telling him that he shouldn’t sing because it would make life worse for Norman and the other geeks. Karen encouraged Stanley, and Stanley insisted that he was going to sing because he loved singing and didn’t care that he was not considered great at it. Mary’s best friend Barbara Foss informed Andy that Mary thought he was cute and wanted to date him after she already dated everyone else at her young age and there were not many boys left to pick from. As Andy collected the money from the paper route customers and whatever tips or gifts they usually gave him, Ricky wet a newspaper and threw it hard to knock Andy off his bike so then Ricky could steal the bag of cookies Andy received from a customer. Jason came back to school after his suspension, and Bruce Modak told Andy that his dad said teacher Mr. Simon was a homo. Since Andy liked Mr. Simon, Bruce assumed that Andy liked homos too even though Andy didn’t know what it was. Andy asked the other kids if Mr. Simon was a homo, and they agreed with the rumor and thought Andy lived under a rock if he didn’t know. Mr. Simon got permission from Principal Kelner to take the kids for a ride in his new Pontiac. Stanley used the one key word “prejudice,” as an example of what not to use for their project and mentioned black and white people because black people were more targeted by prejudice than any other race. Instead, Stanley and Andy decided on tolerance, which meant to leave someone alone if you didn’t like them. Jason ran into his older brother Carl’s room and forgot he wasn’t supposed to, so Carl pinned Jason down and was going to spit a loogie on him until Jason promised to clean Carl’s room for two weeks in exchange for two answers. Jason wanted to know if a homo teacher could get fired and Carl said definitely, and then Jason asked what the definition of a homo was. Mr. Nichol worked with computers and liked everything right the first time so it didn’t have to be done again. He scolded Andy for missing sections of the lawn even though Andy said he would go over it again, so Mr. Nichol took over the job since his son didn’t listen to him. He did the same thing when Andy was putting together a model plane and used too much glue, and Mr. Nichol didn’t want Andy to cut his finger if he tried to use a razorblade to get rid of the extra glue. Andy left to do his homework and afterward asked his mom’s advice on dating in the eighth grade, and she said those relationships didn’t last long. Andy then asked what a homo was, and Mrs. Nichol explained. She then told her husband that Mr. Simon’s possible homosexuality wasn’t a big deal because he was the best teacher the school had. Mr. Nichol argued that the hippies were protesting and homos shouldn’t be teaching kids because teachers were supposed to be role models. Jason told his mom about Mr. Simon, and she discussed it with her husband Ed. Ed went to Principal Evelyn Kelner and told her, and she wanted proof because Mr. Simon had been there for 12 years, he was voted the California Teacher of the Year award and nominated other years and that Mr. Simon had been married but his wife died many years ago. Ed said that sometimes homos marry those of the opposite sex to disguise their sex life. Ed announced that he was taking Jason out of English class, and Ed threatened to tell the other parents and go to the papers if Principal Evelyn didn’t handle the situation within 48 hours. Andy then went to see Bruce, the school hustler, and trade a baseball card for a blank ID bracelet for Mary. However, Bruce insisted on having all three of Andy’s baseball cards (the bracelet was worth about $10 while in present day the Mantle rookie cards were worth $100,000) in exchange for the bracelet, which Bruce gave Mary when they were together. Meanwhile, Principal Evelyn repeatedly asked teacher Mr. Simon to deny that he was a homosexual, and he finally said that his private life (and sexual behavior) had nothing to do with his teaching ability even though Principal Evelyn insisted that it did because it influenced the children (kids copy). Mr. Simon announced that he had been a teacher for a long time and he would not compromise who or what he was for anybody, especially not the principal. The gossip was all over school that Andy and Mary were going to date, and Dan told Andy that Mary’s last boyfriend was Ricky and she broke up with him and not the other way around because he still liked her. Principal Evelyn then visited the Freel house and told Jason’s parents that she supported teacher Mr. Simon and he shouldn’t have to answer questions about his private life. Jason’s parents argued that their children were kept in the school’s care and they had a moral obligation to the Bible about how they were taught. They were concerned that Mr. Simon took the children alone on (prize he won in contest) car rides that Principal Evelyn approved of. Principal Evelyn didn’t think it was fair that Jason attacked Karen and was getting off easy while his parents went after a teacher with credited years of excellent service. Ed argued that he whupped Jason good for his abuse at school to another kid but he was just a kid, and Ed didn’t want his son schooled by a gay teacher and neither would the community. At the Nichol dinner table, Mrs. Nichol brought up the Salem Witch Hunt, which led Mr. Nichol to ask Andy if Mr. Simon ever touched a boy inappropriately. Andy said he had never seen the teacher do that and Mr. Nichol was OK with Andy’s answer and left the table. Principal Evelyn and teacher Mr. Simon met at a café and discussed how she was the first woman principal in the county and was trying to put two kids through college. She didn’t want a family like the Freels destroying the school’s reputation, so she asked Mr. Simon to deny his homosexuality for the children’s sake whether it was true or not. Mr. Simon replied that it was for their sake that he wouldn’t deny it. Andy discovered that Simon was selling his brand new car Pontiac GTO he had just been awarded, and then Mr. Simon announced that he wasn’t coming back to school next year and he brought the boxes to school to pack up his things where he would visit his sister in Florida and perhaps teach in Florida. Ricky confronted Andy with a punch about him going steady with Mary. Stanley interrupted and told Ricky that nobody could see or hear them so he should walk away. Ricky agreed but threatened (on school grounds) to get Stanley for it and kill Andy if he ever told anyone or went near Mary. Andy decided to risk it and asked Mary out, and she was skeptical of the bracelet that she had already been given by Bruce but she agreed to meet Andy at the tunnel after school because he traded his baseball cards for the bracelet. Andy tried not to sweat during the school gym class in the Eagles gymnasium because he didn’t want to ruin the kiss he was about to have with Mary (his mom told him to put extra deodorant on for his sweat condition). Andy ran into Ricky later on, and Mary threatened to tell the principal that Ricky stole many dollars’ worth of quarters from the Pepsi machine so Ricky let Andy go. However, Mary postponed the kiss until after the talent show that night because her bus was leaving in a minute and it took many minutes to deal with the bully Ricky. Norman was a no show at the Talent event (earlier Mr. Simon told his class he’d like to see his students there). Andy went to Norman’s house to convince him to come to the show, and Norman wouldn’t because he didn’t want to be there to see everyone laugh at Stanley. Norman then changed his mind and attended. Everyone snickered before Stanley even had a chance to sing the original song he wrote, “Go Ahead and Dream,” and Mrs. Cranby told them to stop. Andy saw Ricky with a tomato in his hand nearby and knew Ricky planned to throw it at Stanley. Andy confronted Ricky then and told Ricky he would stop him if he threw it. Ricky replied that Andy didn’t have the balls, so Andy kicked Ricky hard in the balls in the crowd of people and told him now Ricky didn’t have balls.  Mr. Simon told Andy good job and had Ricky escorted out and told Stanley to do his thing and silenced the audience. Stanley had a good voice and everyone applauded him after his song. Andy then met with Mary, and he tried to kiss her but chickened out and kissed her on the cheek. Mary then taught Andy how to passionately kiss properly and thoroughly, and then she took out her stopwatch because she liked to make a game out of how long the boys kissed her (with Ricky having the record). Andy tried the kiss again with the timer. Simon then finished the last chapter of Joan of Arc, the timeless role model of patriotism, and he handed out everyone’s graded papers on the last day of school. Andy and Stanley got an A+ on their “tolerance” project as the two happily accepted it with JFK’s picture behind them on the classroom wall. Mr. Simon wished them both a wonderful summer and wonderful life. Andy went on to become a writer because that was what he was. Stanley declared earlier he was a singer because that was what he was. Mr. Simon had said he was a teacher because that was what he was. The kids filled Mr. Simon’s car with flowers and a sign that he was the greatest teacher on Earth, and they all yelled goodbye to Mr. Simon and thanked him as he left school property. Principal Evelyn also waved Simon off from the doorway. Andy then went to Mr. Simon’s house, where Mr. Simon explained that his wife died 19 years before on that exact day and he loved her too much. Mr. Simon went on to say that he paired Andy up with Stanley because it was an opportunity at the right time for Andy to make a right choice and become a writer. Simon added that Andy needed someone to tell him that he could do it, which was what Mr. Simon did. Andy later on as he mowed the lawn again told his dad that he was going to mow the lawn his way and not his dad’s way so Andy did. “Teach The Children Well,” played, as the credits listed that Andy became a writer and was married for 32 years with two daughters after he dated Mary for five weeks (her longest relationship at the time). Stanley helped underprivileged children until he won the $41 million lottery, and then he married Karen, had three children, and moved to the South of France. Mary went on to teach Sex Education at a junior high school in Cleveland, and she has been married four times and keeps Andy’s $100,000 baseball card bracelet in her attic. Norman taught Physics at Harvard and married a co-ed half his age, and they had seven children and Norman was still close to Stanley. Bruce is a commodities trader and lives on his yacht in Tampa Bay, and he had a Swedish super model named Yvette as his girlfriend for three weeks. Ricky became the leader of a biker gang that rivaled Hell’s Angels called Reaper’s Bastard Sons, and Ricky served 10-15 years in federal prison for armed robbery. Jason smoked too much marijuana for his small size and nobody heard from him again. This movie grossed only $6,400 at the box office and was the official selection for the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

REASON: This cartoon movie began with a WWE show at the Denver Colorado Arena, where Sheamus (the Hawk/Celtic Warrior), and the current World Heavyweight Champion, challenged Big Show to a SmackDown in Albuquerque. Mr. McMahon, the chairman and CEO of WWE, tried to postpone the SmackDown because a snowstorm was coming, but Big Show took off in a plane through the storm so he could finally be the champion. However, Big Show’s plane crashed. 100 years later in the futuristic Orbit City, George Jetson worked at Spacely Sprockets and was given a project by his boss Mr. Spacely. George’s wife Jane tried to call him to remind him to come to their son Elroy’s school science fair, but George forgot about it and wouldn’t take his wife’s call and told Rosie bot to make an excuse. George was put in charge of the Drill Bots, and they went to investigate a giant hole in the surface of the Earth. George found Big Show frozen inside the glacier, so he brought the wrestler to his house and melted the ice. Jane wasn’t happy and scolded George for putting his work before his family again. Big Show stayed with the Jetsons for the night. The next morning, Elroy took Big Show to show and tell at school, where Big Show learned that there would be a WWE event at the Orbit City Arena. Big Show went there to defeat Sheamus and get the Championship Belt, but it turned out that it was World Wrobot Entertainment where robot versions of the WWE Superstars battled each other. Big Show beat up the robots, stole their championship belt and then dragged Mr. McMoon the boss outside. When George found out what Big Show was doing, he went to handle it but the police arrived first and Big Show bashed their cars to pieces and beat them up. Big Show then decided that he was going to be the champion of the world, so he turned the robots into his minions. Big Show took over Orbit City and forced the citizens to kneel before him. George decided to take his family, their dog Astro and their robot maid Rosie and run. Daughter Judy looked up online the story about Big Show, and Elroy tested his time-travel theory (which he won second place for at the science fair) to go 100 years back in time to the 21st century. The Jetsons dressed up like Superstars to get into the Albuquerque show with Jane and Judy wearing shorty shorts and half shirts like Superstar female wrestler Alicia Fox. George distracted Sheamus (Hawk) during his match against Reactor Seth Rollins (the Architect who believed he was the future of WWE) and tried to ask for Sheamus’s help to stop Big Show. Roman Reigns (the Roman Empire), Alicia and the Uso Brothers went after George to stop him. George ended up taking down Rollins in the ring, so George became the champion and called himself Future Guy. Mr. McMahon believed George was an imposter, so George explained that they wanted to take the Superstars to the future to defeat Big Show. Mr. McMahon agreed, and he and Superstars went to Orbit City with the Jetsons in their spaceships. However, they arrived a month after they had left and Big Show ruled the city. He enslaved the citizens in the jail and put statues and pictures of himself everywhere. The destruction robots chased after the Jetsons and the Superstars. George tried to distract them, but they captured him and put him in jail. Jane had an idea for Sheamus (Hawk) to broadcast a challenge to Big Show from Orbit City News Network station. Big Show was infuriated by the challenge and accepted it, and he and Sheamus (Hawk) agreed to meet at Time Warp Square. George tried to convince the other people in the jail, including Mr. McMoon and Mr. Spacely, to help him. They didn’t want to at first but then they changed their minds, and Rosie, Mr. McMahon and Astro rescued them all. At the Square, the robots captured the Jetsons and the Superstars. Big Show summoned his Bots of Destruction, the Undertaker Bot and the Kane Bot, and announced that Sheamus (Hawk) had to defeat them first. Rollins was a hotshot and thought he could do better than Sheamus (Hawk) so he tried to fight the Kane robot but ended up running scared. Sheamus (Hawk) beat the Undertaker to pieces, and the other Superstars broke free from their captor bots and defeated them. Big Show ordered for Sheamus (Hawk) to kneel before him and threatened to use the Sheamus Bot to attack Jane, Judy and Elroy if Sheamus didn’t. George interrupted and crushed the Sheamus Bot with his space-car. Sheamus (Hawk) and Big Show then battled one-on-one, and Sheamus (Hawk) had Big Show beat but decided not to finish the battle. The two agreed to return to Earth and fight it out there to determine the real champion was. Big Show apologized to the Jetsons, and he gave his Bots of Destruction to Elroy. The Superstars went back to Earth. George was worried that Mr. Spacely would fire him for not saying anything about Big Show and trying to hide him. However, Mr. Spacely announced that he got a contract and wanted to promote George to supervise all the robots who would rebuild Orbit City. George accepted the job and took one day off to spend with his family. The Jetsons became fans of WWE, and they attended WrestleMania matches at the Orbit City Arena. Mr. McMoon announced that WWE was now only for humans, and they had two new Superstars to battle each other.

PRODUCTION YEAR:  1978 Paramount Pictures / Alan Carr Enterprises / Stigwood Group / Warner Bros. Distribution

RATING [1 LEAST FAVORITE TO 5 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED]: 1

REASON: This movie takes place in Los Angeles, California in 1959, when high schoolers Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson fell in love over summer vacation and hung out at the beach. Sandy told Danny she was going back to Sydney, Australia, soon, but instead her parents changed their plans and stayed in the USA so Sandy attended Rydell High School. Rydell High was also where Danny and his gang the T-Birds (second-in-command Kenickie and other members Doodie, Sonny LaTierri and Putzie) went. Principal McGee announced the upcoming bonfire at the Rydell Rangers football game, as well as a live dance-off that would take place in the school gym since the National Bandstand TV show picked Rydell because they were such an outstanding American high school. Sandy hung out with the Pink Ladies gang, led by Betty Rizzo with members Frenchy Facciano, Jan and Marty Maraschino. They considered making Sandy a member of the team, and Patricia Simcox, the head cheerleader, convinced Sandy to join the cheerleading team. Danny and Sandy then both sang “Summer Lovin’,” to their groups, where Danny tried to convince the boys that he saved Sandy’s life and had sex with her on the sand while Sandy told the girls that her mysterious summer boyfriend was just showing off and the two of them were romantic and only held hands. When Sandy revealed that her boyfriend was Danny, Rizzo had a plan to reintroduce the two lovers her way. At the bonfire, the angry Coach Calhoun gave a speech that the Rangers would tear apart and slaughter the opposing team. The T-Birds planned to fix up their hotrod, named Greased Lightnin’, and race it at Thunder Road, the illegal racing place, so they could get girls and sex. The Pink Ladies brought Sandy to see Danny, and he couldn’t believe she was there and not in Australia. Danny had to keep up his playboy image in front of his gang, so he talked down to Sandy. She was upset because Danny wasn’t the person she thought he was from the beach. Frenchy cheered Sandy up by inviting her to a Pink Lady sleepover at Frenchy’s house, where the girls tried to convince Sandy to try smoking and drink alcohol wine (and eat Twinkies). Frenchy was planning to drop out of high school to go to beauty school, so she insisted on piercing Sandy’s ears in the bathroom even though Sandy didn’t want that. Teen Marty was corresponding with a Marine and many other guys in the military. Sandy threw up at the sight of the blood on her ear in the bathroom. Outside in the room, Rizzo put on a blonde wig to look like Sandy and sang about how she was a goody two shoes because she was still a virgin and wouldn’t have sex until she married. The Pink Ladies chimed in, and Sandy wasn’t happy when she overheard them. Sandy then sang “Hopelessly Devoted To You,” about Danny. The T-Birds pulled up outside the house, so Rizzo crawled out the window. Danny told her that sloppy seconds like her weren’t his style, and then Kenickie kicked the T-Birds out of the car and went to the drive-in movie theater with Rizzo. Kenickie and Rizzo had sex in the backseat of the car even though Kenickie’s condom broke. Leo Balmudo, the head of the Scorpion gang and the T-Birds’ enemy gang, interrupted them. Leo and his dancer girlfriend from St. Bernadette’s, named Charlene “Cha-Cha” DiGregorio, rammed into Kenickie’s car. Leo offered to give Kenickie $.75 for the car and his girlfriend Rizzo. The T-Birds sang and danced like Elvis as they worked on Greased Lightnin’ in the school garage with the help of Mrs. Murdock the auto shop teacher. The teens went to the Frosty Palace, where Sandy’s new date was Tom Chisum, the captain of the Rangers football team. The T-Birds thought girls were good for one thing (sex), which lasted only 15 minutes and they didn’t know what else to do with the girls for the other 23 hours and 45 minutes. Danny apologized to Sandy for what happened at the bonfire because he was just trying to uphold his image, and Sandy boasted about how simple Tom was and she liked that. Danny wanted to get Sandy’s attention so he could be a jock like Tom, so he went to Coach Calhoun to try out different sports. However, Danny was violent and beat up the other players so Coach Calhoun put Danny in track so he couldn’t hurt anyone. Danny showed off in front of Sandy because he was jealous that she was with Tom, and then he fell over a hurdle. Sandy ran to make sure Danny was okay, and while the two talked, Danny made fun of Tom as he watched Sandy with the gangster. Sandy then made plans to be Danny’s partner at the dance-off instead of Tom’s and walked away with Danny leaving Tom on the bleachers. The couple later went to the Frosty Palace, where Danny wanted to have privacy with Sandy but the other T-Birds and their girlfriends the Pink Ladies joined them. Rizzo complained about all her hickeys making her look like a leper, and Kenickie bragged that a hickey from him was like getting a Hallmark card. Everyone left except Rizzo, Frenchy and Kenickie. Rizzo was in a horrid mood and got in a fight with Kenickie, who didn’t want to get stuck with the bill and asked Rizzo to pay. Rizzo threw her pink milkshake on Kenickie and said from her to him Pinky Lee. Frenchy told Vi the waitress that she had a hard time in all her beauty classes, especially tinting since Frenchy now had pink hair. She dropped out and then imagined her guardian angel, Frankie Avalon, singing “Beauty School Dropout,” to her. Frankie told Frenchy go back to high school and get her diploma, and Dear Abby would agree. Since Rizzo and Marty didn’t have dates to the school dance-off, Rizzo went with Leo the Scorpion while T-Bird Kenickie went with Charlene. Vince Fontaine was the host of the National Bandstand, and teen Marty and adult Vince flirted with each other (which Marty’s date, one of the T-Birds, wasn’t happy about) as a T-Bird spiked the punch. Danny pulled Sandy away because Charlene had the worst reputation around. The rules of the dance-off were that all couples must be boy-girl, anyone tapped on the shoulder was disqualified and so was anyone doing tasteless or vulgar dance moves. Johnny Casino and The Gamblers band performed Elvis, and Rizzo and Leo were disqualified for dirty dancing. Leo then went and tried to steal Charlene back from Kenickie. All the couples then dirty danced, and one guy pulled Patricia’s dress up on live TV. Danny and Sandy were in the spotlight until one of the T-Birds grabbed Sandy away and Charlene and Danny did vulgar moves and because of that the two wonthe dance-off. Danny and Charlene then slow-danced together to “Blue Moon,” while three boys pulled their pants down in front of the camera to expose their bare butts to the nation on live TV. Principal McGee later announced that the culprits faced a federal charge once the pictures of their butts were sent to the FBI to be identified. Danny gave Sandy his class ring at the drive-in, and she forgave him for dancing with Charlene and she knew then that Danny respected her. However, Danny then tried to have sex with Sandy because that was all he wanted, so she threw his ring back at him and ran away from his sin wagon. Rizzo told Marty that she skipped her period and was worried that she was pregnant. Marty revealed that she spotted Vince trying to put an “aspirin” pill (or date rape drug) in her drink at the dance. Marty promised she wouldn’t tell anybody about Rizzo, but then Marty told her boyfriend and he told someone who then told someone else and on and on until everyone at school knew. Rizzo told Kenickie that it was someone else’s mistake and not his, and then Rizzo broke into song that there were worst things she could do than get pregnant in high school. Kenickie convinced Danny to be his riding partner at Thunder Road. At Thunder Road, Scorpion ganger Leo announced that he and Kenickie would be racing to date the Pink Ladies. However, Kenickie then got knocked in the head by a car door and couldn’t drive, so Danny took Kenickie’s place. Leo cheated and used blades on his car to put a hole in the side of Grease Lightnin’, but then Leo ended up in a water ditch so Danny won. Sandy and Frenchy went to Frenchy’s place so Sandy could have a makeover and get Danny’s attention. On the last day of school, Principal McGee gave a speech to the seniors that among the girls there might be an Eleanor Roosevelt or Rosemary Clooney, and among the boys that might be a Joe DiMaggio, President Eisenhower or Vice President Nixon. Everyone then had a Rydell Graduation Carnival on the football field, where the students were encouraged to buy pies and throw them in the teachers’ faces to support the teachers’ retirement fund. Kenickie celebrated when he found out that Rizzo wasn’t pregnant, and the two made out on school grounds. Danny wore his letter sweater from track to impress Sandy, but then Sandy appeared in new smoking a cigarette and sporting a sexy black leather outfit selfie in order to fit in with the T-Birds gang. Sandy and Danny danced provocatively and sang “You’re The One That I Want,” and then they drove off in Danny’s red hotrod. This movie had a budget of $6 million and it grossed over $366 million at the box office.

REASON: This movie takes place in Illinois and began with unpopular Shermer High School students Gary Wallace and Wyatt Donnelly fantasizing about partying and having sex with a bunch of girls while staring at the teen girls in the school gym dressed in their gym clothes. They were interrupted by two school bullies boys, Max and Ian, who snuck up behind them and then pulled Gary and Wyatt’s shorts down in front of the school girls that embarrassed both of them. Wyatt’s parents left him alone in the house so they could go to Cincinnati to meet Wyatt’s sister Chloe’s fiancé before their daughter got married. The parents left Wyatt’s older college brother Chet in charge once Chet arrived at the house. After the boys watched Frankenstein, Gary got the idea to use Wyatt’s computer to simulate a girl and ask her questions about sex. However, Wyatt’s computer didn’t have enough power to do it so he hacked into a bigger system. The boys put together the woman’s body parts by uploading pictures from their collection of Playboy magazines, they scanned in pictures of Einstein and Beethoven to give her brains and musical skills, and finally they put a face on her. However, when they tried to complete their project, a violent thunderstorm with red clouds occurred. The house was hit by lightning and places around town exploded. The boys tried to destroy the computer but couldn’t, and then all the chaos stopped as soon as it started. The project was successful, and a sexy 23-year-old British woman with the ability to get anything she wanted at any time then appeared just the way the boys created her. The trio (2 underage boys and an adult woman) took a shower together, and then the woman drove the boys to a bar drinking party in a car she got for herself but wouldn’t tell the boys how she paid for it. The boys named the woman Lisa after a girl Gary liked. Lisa gave the boys fake IDs that stated they were both 21, and they got talked into drinking and smoking. When Gary was drunk, he told the men that he had a crush on Lisa in the 8th grade because she had big breasts, but she kicked him in the crotch when he tried to talk to her. Lisa didn’t want to drive home, so Wyatt did even though he didn’t have his license or learners’ permit. Chet was smoking dope in the house when they got to Wyatt’s parents home, and foul mouthed Chet was mad that Wyatt was back late and agreed not to tell their parents if Wyatt gave Chet $175. Lisa (adult) then passionately made out with (boy) Wyatt, who was 15 and soon to be 16 years old. The next morning, Gary and Wyatt wondered if it was all a dream but they quickly found out it wasn’t because Lisa was still there in the house. Chet noticed that Wyatt was wearing women’s underwear and called him mentally disturbed, and Wyatt agreed to give his brother his VCR in exchange for Chet’s silence about it so Chet would not tell their parents. Chet (adult) then removed the shower towel from around his own waist and gave it to Wyatt to cover himself up with, and that exposed Chet’s adult bare butt (on screen) and his frontal part to boy Wyatt. Gary and Wyatt then went to the mall to buy perfume, and Sue the cashier recognized them as the guys who got beat up at the homecoming game.Lisa was at a different store shopping for lingerie and the adult Lisa asked an elderly woman if a skimpy piece of underwear she wanted to buy would turn her on if she was a 15-year-old boy. Max and Ian the bullies dumped an Icee on Gary and Wyatt’s heads, and then Max and Ian’s girlfriends Deb and Hilly weren’t happy about and considered dumping their mean boyfriends. They decided to give the bully teen boys another chance because otherwise the girls’ social lives would be a flop and they couldn’t go to any more parties. The men (and one woman) lined up to gawk at Lisa as she flirted with Max and Ian. They chased after Lisa, and she invited them to a party at Wyatt’s house that night (so he and Gary could become popular) and then left in Gary’s new Porsche that she got him. Wyatt wasn’t happy about having the party at his house because his parents would be back soon, but Lisa insisted. She then dressed as a rocker chick and met Gary’s parents at Gary’s house. Gary lied that Lisa was a foreign exchange student. Lisa announced that she was taking Gary to an average high school orgy at Wyatt’s house full of sex, drugs and rock n’ roll. Al and Lucy (Gary’s folks) were outraged and told Lisa to get out, but she refused and told Gary’s parents that he deserved to go to the party because he had good grades and his only sexual outlet was tossing off to magazines in the bathroom. That upset Lucy, and when Al tried to call the police Lisa pulled a gun (actually a water gun) on him. Lisa made Al and Lucy forget everything that just happened, and Al even forgot that Gary existed. Lisa invited hundreds of high schoolers to the party at the Donnelly home, and a man from the bar Lisa took the boys to earlier showed up and served alcoholic drinks. Wyatt was nervous and hid out in the bathroom on the toilet with his upset stomach with Gary in the bathroom with him. But then Deb and Hilly asked to use the bathroom. Introductions were made, and the girls were disappointed when they found out that Gary and Wyatt were with Lisa who the teen girls looked up to as a role model because she was thin, talked with an accent, acted as though she were in charge of everything and everyone and dressed in a sexy style. Meanwhile, Lisa told Max and Ian that she usually did whatever Gary and Wyatt wanted her to but others could persuade her. Gary and Wyatt planned to hook up with Deb and Hilly, but they didn’t get the chance. Lisa suggested that the teen girls shower with teens Gary and Wyatt because adult Lisa did and it was awesome. Max and Ian apologized to Gary and Wyatt for the Icee incident, and then the underage teen boys tried to make a deal to swap their underage teen girlfriends for adult Lisa. Instead, Gary and Wyatt worked on using the computer to make Max and Ian their own woman. Chaos and a storm followed by an abrupt calm happened, like the first time when Lisa was invented. The kitchen was turned blue and an adult woman that played the piano inside the house got sucked up into the chimney and it showed her bare-breasts (on screen) and her underwear as she was thrown outside into the water. When the “She’s Alive,” experiment didn’t work, Lisa told the boys that they forgot to hook up the doll so they did and a Pershing missile shot up through the floor and the roof. Wyatt’s elder grandparents Carmen and Henry decided to drop in and see how Wyatt was doing. The grandparents scolded the partying teens and told them all to get out of the house, and then they confronted Lisa. Lisa froze the elder grandparents in time and then stuffed them in the closet. Lisa then summoned some scary heavy metal rocker people and punks on motorcycles. The gang crashed through the window, wrecked the house and terrorized the teens. Lisa tried to convince Gary and Wyatt to go out and handle the situation to show everyone how brave they were (Lisa’s scheme for the boys to finally become popular). They didn’t want to, but the scary adult ringleader Lord General (Mad Max/Road Warrior) gave them no choice but to face the freaks. They took Deb and Hilly hostage, and teen Gary pulled a gun (which he thought was a squirt gun but was actually real) on the Lord General and gave him the option to either leave in peace or die. Lisa’s bot staged drama actors suddenly left and played the defeated role and even apologized for the damage they did and that made Gary and Wyatt look like heroes. Hilly later asked Wyatt to kiss her because she was through with Ian, so Wyatt did. Deb compared herself to gorgeous Lisa and asked Gary how he felt about Lisa, and he said he loved Lisa like a sister (after the teen boy showered with her and had sexual feelings for Lisa) and if he could create another woman she would be like Deb. Teens Gary and Deb then kissed. The next morning, Chet came home from hunting and discovered the house trashed and snow was in his room. Teens Gary and Deb were in bed together, and Chet put his gun in their faces and threatened to kill them (Wyatt and Chet’s grandparents were still in the closet). Chet then dragged Wyatt out of bed with Hilly and demanded to know what his monkey dick brother did. He let his brother Wyatt go, after Wyatt said he would give Chet his college money and social security for his silence. Chet asked Lisa what she did to his grandparents and she said they weren’t hurt and the adults both left the elderly people in the closet. Lisa sent the teen boys to drive teen girls home each in a sports car of their own. Lisa told Chet that she could be a bit** when she didn’t get what she wanted. She turned him into a pile of poop and told him that she would change him back to normal if he didn’t bother Gary and Wyatt anymore. Chet promised, but then Lisa made him wait until the spell wore off. Gary was speeding at almost 80 mph, and the police chased after him and Deb. Gary refused to pull over and the underage illegal teens lost the police by driving past an oncoming train and the police were stuck on the other side. Al and Lucy were nearby and spotted Gary racing by and Al still didn’t know who Gary was. Gary and Wyatt both passionately kissed their new girlfriends when they dropped them off at their houses. The boys were then shocked to see Chet in his monstrous crappy state where he was eating flies. They told Lisa that they now had girlfriends, and she appeared slightly hurt by it but she was happy for them. Lisa then announced that her mission was accomplished, so she disappeared in a cloud of smoke. The missile disappeared back underground, and Gary and Wyatt’s cars disappeared. The messy house was magically put back in order and the broken things repaired so everything (including Chet) was normal again by the time Al and Lucy arrived. British Lisa reappeared in the end but now employed at the local school in America as the boys’ “hot” PE teacher, and that had the teens fainting away from adult Lisa’s sex crazed selfie. This movie had a budget of $7.5 million and grossed over $38 million at the box office.

TITLE:  Big Momma’s House

PRODUCTION YEAR: 2000  20th Century Fox / Regency Enterprises / Runteldat Entertainment / Taurus Films

RATING [1 LEAST FAVORITE TO 5 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED]: 1

REASON: This movie began at a secret dogfight building in California, where the crowded room arena full of Asians had captured a white FBI agent named Jonathan Maxwell, and then threw him in the ring and betted on what viciously trained dog would tear him to pieces. One of the Asians was in fact undercover FBI agent Malcolm Turner, John’s partner, and black Malcolm wore an Asian mask disguise. Malcolm then beat up some of the criminal spectators in attendance while the FBI raided the illegal dogfighting facility. John ended up locked in a cage next to one of the big mean spirited dogs, and Malcolm had to rescue his federal partner before John was mauled to death.Back at the office, the FBI then reviewed the case of Lester Vesco. Lester recently escaped from the federal prison by brutally attacking the prison doctor and then used the medical person’s Volvo vehicle to make his getaway. Two years before, Lester shot two people at a bank and then stole $2 million so he was locked up for a life sentence. The FBI believed that Lester’s ex-girlfriend and loan officer Sherry Pierce assisted him in breaking into the vault because she worked at the bank and then the female cried on the stand about it and stated she knew nothing about her questionable boyfriend’s criminal plan. Lester didn’t have the money when he was arrested, so it was assumed that Sherry had it. Sherry was still in Los Angeles and saw the news report about Lester, so she quickly packed up her 10-year-old son Trent for a “vacation” to Georgia to get away from Lester because Sherry knew he would come to her home. Just as Sherry left in her car, she heard police sirens so she was able to drive off before the cops arrived. The FBI figured that they would find Lester if they could find Sherry, so they sent Malcolm and John to Cartersville, Georgia, to do surveillance on Hattie Mae “Big Momma” Pierce, Sherry’s estranged grandmother. Malcolm and John moved into a house across the street from Hattie Mae’s house to spy on her. When she and her neighbors Miss Patterson and Miss Other Patterson came to the door with welcome gifts, Malcolm snuck into Hattie Mae’s house and installed cameras and listening devices. John stalled the women and said he no longer had a wife, and when they asked if John’s wife was with Jesus he said she was having an affair with Jesus (hay-seuss) the gardener. Hattie Mae was having digestive issues and rushed back to her house. John tried to delay her so Malcolm could get out, but Hattie Mae kneed John hard in the crotch and then used the toilet to relieve her flatulence. Malcolm hid in the shower and was horrified at the sight of Hattie Mae’s large bare butt as she undressed to take a shower. Malcolm was able to return to his stakeout house across the street unnoticed. Hattie Mae then left her house for a couple weeks to help her friend in the hospital. Malcolm and John planned to tap Hattie Mae’s phones and were inside Hattie Mae’s home when Malcolm had a new idea after Sherry called her grandmother to say that she was coming to visit and the answering machine picked up. Malcolm answered the phone using a believable impression of Hattie Mae’s voice. Malcom (male) then underwent a makeover and wore a bodysuit to look like female Big Momma. When Sherry arrived at her Grandmother’s yellow castle like house in her red ragtop convertible, she believed that Malcolm was actually Big Momma and reintroduced Trent since they had not seen one another in a long time (Sherry and grandma had a falling out many years ago). However, Malcolm dressed as a female immediately had sexual feelings for Sherry but tried to hide it. Malcolm had no idea how to cook and set the food on fire while using duct tape to keep his mask from falling off. The real Big Momma’s boyfriend, Ben Rawley, came to the door and then barged into the house trying to be touchy with his lips and hands. Malcolm was disgusted and dragged Ben out the door telling him that he needed to get a woman he liked a nice gift from the heart before he could even think about sex. Meanwhile, Lester was able to get inside Sherry’s home undetected in California and searched Sherry’s apartment and found Trent’s prescription allergy medicine. Lester used the prescription pharmacies nationwide database to track down and find out where Sherry was refilling Trent’s prescription at a pharmacy in Cartersville, Georgia so Lester headed there. Big Momma’s friends, Lena and Twila, then told Malcolm (thinking he was Big Momma) that Ritha was having a baby and (Big Mama) he was the midwife and needed to deliver it. Malcolm (dressed as Big Momma) got between Ritha’s spread legs and tried to stall until the paramedics that John (communicated via earpiece) called. Ritha’s brother Nolan, a dopey security guard from the lumberyard, came and called Malcolm senile because he didn’t know what he was doing and watched his sister with her legs spread about to give birth. Malcolm (Big Momma) ended up using Crisco to get the baby girl out, and he encouraged everyone to scream until it was over. The paramedics then took Ritha and the baby to the hospital. Later on, Malcolm (Big Momma) kept trying to convince Sherry to talk about Lester, but she didn’t want to and Sherry then gave Malcolm (Big Momma) back the cross necklace that Big Momma had given to Sherry years ago to remember Sherry by in the event Sherry left again. Malcolm as Big Momma went into town with Sherry and Trent while John searched their rooms in Big Momma’s house. Malcolm attended self-defense class with Nolan, who was being rough with the women so Malcolm (Big Momma) beat him up. In the process Nolan pulled Malcolm’s wig off, and he thought he was busted but then all the other women pulled their wigs off and went after Nolan. Malcolm (Big Momma) tried to ask Trent about Sherry’s plans, and he replied that his mom told him some things were personal and should be kept to yourself. When Malcolm learned that the older boys at the basketball court wouldn’t let Trent play ball, Malcolm (Big Momma) used that to gain trust with Trent and went to teach the boys a lesson by defeating them in a basketball game. Malcolm then decided that he would be himself and try to date Sherry so he could learn about Lester since she would never tell her grandmother. Malcolm introduced himself to Sherry as Big Momma’s friend, and then Malcolm said Big Momma suggested that Sherry hang out with Malcolm. Sherry spilled jam on her robe, and when she took it off Malcolm (as Sherry’s grandmother Big Momma) hooted over the sight of Sherry in her lingerie. Malcolm then took Sherry and Trent fishing out on a boat, where Malcolm helped Trent catch fireflies and all three had a good time. Lester met with someone in a dark alley trying to buy a gun for $100, and the seller insisted that it was $200 and pointed his gun at Lester. However, the man couldn’t pull the trigger so Lester left with his $100 gun. Nolan spied on Big Momma and followed Big Momma aka Malcolm in disguise to his to his base of operations across the street. Malcolm then explained that he and John were undercover FBI trying to catch Lester. The two federal agents instructed Nolan to stake out the bank to keep Nolan the security guard out of their hair. Sherry got up in the middle of the night and crawled into bed with Big Momma (Malcolm) like she used to when she was a girl. Sherry said that Big Momma changed because she used to give Sherry whuppings that only taught her how to look innocent even though she was guilty. Sherry felt Malcolm’s hard male body part under the sheets and wondered what that was, and Malcolm (Big Momma) said it was his flashlight. The next morning, John scolded Malcolm for not paying attention to the case and getting distracted by his attraction to Sherry because he didn’t even notice when Sherry left the house with a big bag and didn’t return with it. John told Malcolm that Sherry would go down with Lester if Malcolm didn’t get her to confess. Malcolm man (as Big Momma woman), Sherry, Trent and Ben went to Freedom Baptist Church where all of God’s children were welcome. The Reverend asked Big Momma to say a few words and he announced that all of them had alternate lives and secrets and needed to confess their sins. Malcolm (Big Momma) then led the choir in a Jesus song, “Happy Day.” When they arrived back at the house, Malcolm (Big Momma) thought someone was inside and went in with his gun. It turned out to be a surprise birthday party for Big Momma, and Nolan confiscated the gun from Malcolm. Malcolm (Big Momma) heard Trent upstairs banging around and found him looking for a photo album of the pictures taken of him, Sherry and Malcolm when they went fishing. Malcolm (Big Momma) then snooped in Trent’s footlocker and found a secret compartment full of $100 bills. He (Big Momma) confronted Sherry about it and threw the cross necklace at Sherry because Sherry needed it more. Sherry said she had no idea that Lester hid the money there. She packed her things and confessed to Big Momma (Malcolm) that Lester stole her keys, shot two people, broke into the vault, stole the money and then the criminal apparently hid it in the child’s footlocker. Sherry confessed that she didn’t say anything when she found her bank work keys missing because she was afraid of losing her job. She went on to explain that the big bag held a birthday gift for Big Momma which was a framed picture of her and young Sherry. The phone call Sherry made in town was to arrange the party. Malcolm (Big Momma) reassured Sherry that none of it was her fault and then he (Big Momma) accidentally kissed her on the lips, which she wasn’t expecting from her “grandmother.” When Malcolm went into the bedroom to change for the party, Ben was in bed naked wanting sex and Malcolm (Big Momma) told him no. John then tried to distract the real Big Momma (Hattie Mae), who just arrived back home, by telling her not to go inside and ruin her surprise party but she went in anyway. Sadie, a nosy neighbor, saw Malcolm through the window messing with his disguise in the bedroom. She went over to investigate, and the real Big Momma Hattie Mae found Sadie in bed on top of Ben having sex. Hattie Mae was angry and wanted to whack Ben with a baseball bat while Nolan locked Malcolm (Big Momma) out of the house. Sherry found Trent in his bedroom with Lester, who then took both of them hostage and tried to leave quietly with them. Nolan noticed Lester’s gun and pulled out his own gun, which fell apart and bullets dropped to the floor. Lester shot John (the only white person in the room) in the arm when he pulled out his gun, and then Malcolm (Big Momma) jumped through the window to get inside. Malcolm (Big Momma) beat Lester up and kicked him through the window and his mask disguise came off in the process. Little Trent, very disturbed by the entire fake man masqueerading around as a woman act, ran away upset when Malcolm took off the rest of his disguise and revealed that he was Malcolm and not she Big Momma. The police showed up and arrested Lester and took John to the hospital. Sherry told Malcolm that he was a liar and deceived her while trying to convict her of a crime. The movie ended with Malcolm, as himself, at Big Momma’s church where he gave his testimony and told everyone that you have to go and get what you want and not wait for it to come to you, and not what he told Trent before was to wait for it to happen and be patient when they saw the fireflies while fishing. Hattie Mae and the reverend approved, so Sherry walked to the frontwhere the FBI agent stood and Sherry kissed Malcolm passionately inside the holy place and the churchgoers cheered them on while Trent clapped happily. Hattie Mae “Big Momma” then led the choir in the Jesus, “Happy Day.” This movie had a budget of $30 million and grossed $174 million at the box office. The movie cover art listed, Stephen Hunter, The Washington Post, “I laughed endlessly!” Bob Graham, San Francisco Chronicle “Outrageous!” Mike Cidoni, ABC-TV, “bigger than ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’, and badder than, Tootsie!” E! Online, “Martin Lawrence brings down the house!” Checkout.com, “Nia Long is captivating.”

REASON: This movie takes place in New York. Telly Paretta was mourning for the loss of her 9-year-old son in a small Brooklyn plane crash fourteen months ago in which other school children died. Eliot, Telly’s female neighborhood friend wanted to hang out with Telly because it had been awhile since they saw one another. Telly then found her car moved on the street and a strange man sat in his vehicle where her car should have been. Telly went to appointments with her psychologist, Dr. Jack Munce, about her grief. She was adamant that she just had some coffee, and Dr. Munce insisted that she didn’t have any that day and her mind was playing tricks on her even though Telly tasted coffee on her own breath (her cup was missing from the room). Telly took a freelance-editing job for a children’s book. Later that night, Telly noticed that a picture of Sam was switched out with one of just Telly and her husband Jim William. She confronted him about it and then smashed the switched picture. Telly encountered Ashley Correll, an alcoholic neighbor and ex-New York Ranger player, and he said he didn’t know her even though she knew his name. Telly then found the photo albums in the locked room that had Sam’s pictures gone and replaced with a blank album, so she left Jim a voicemail about it and told him to stop his madness because she did not want to hate him. Telly then put in Sam’s recorded home videotapes, and they too were erased. When Jim came home, Telly told him that she was done with him and she was angry that he erased the tapes and all other proof of Sam. Jim argued that Sam never existed. Dr. Munce came over to the house and the shrink told Telly that she had paramnesia and made up the 9 years of memories she had about Sam. Jim told Telly that she had a miscarriage and almost died having a stillborn baby. Jim and Dr. Munce teamed up and tried to convince Telly that she was suffering from post-traumatic stress that led her to invent an alternate life. The questionable shrink and estranged husband planned to commit Telly to a mental institution. Because the photo albums were now empty, Telly tried to show them a set of photobooth pictures of her and Sam that she kept in another place, but again the photos replaced the boy Sam with her husband Jim. Telly ran out of the house and sped off to the library to look at the newspapers. Telly couldn’t find her pass and was too upset to fill out the standard form and was emotionally distressed, so the library clerk helped her look for the newspaper article about the plane crash but the article wasn’t there. Telly then encountered Eliot on the street and told her that she had a fight with Sam. Eliot didn’t know who Sam was so Telly ran off to Ash’s apartment to find answers and didn’t want to be around her husband who was trying to have her committed unlawfully. She told Ash that her son Eliot and Ash’s daughter, Lauren, used to play together (and died together on the same plane headed to camp), and drunken Ash replied that he wasn’t who Telly thought he was and someone else had a daughter and knew her son. Ash said he needed to sleep and then they could talk. While he went to bed, Telly then used a knife to cut away the wallpaper in Ash’s office and reveal that drawings that Lauren made on the walls because it used to be her room. Ash didn’t know anything about that and denied ever having met Telly. Telly pointed out that Ash only started drinking 14 months ago after Lauren died. Ash, semi-sober, excused himself and said he needed a minute to think but he only took that time to call the NYPD officers to arrest Telly because he believed she needed help mentally. However, after Telly was led out by the two male NYPD police (Scott Nicholson and PJ Morrison), the feds showed and agent Carl Dayton and another agent from the National Security Agent then took custody of Telly outside the apartment building. Before Telly left the apartment, Telly made Ash say “Lauren” name out loud to jog his memory. Ash walked back into his office after they left and suddenly had flashbacks of Lauren calling him dad. Ash ran outside and the NYPD officers told him that they no longer had Telly and added that the federal people in the car behind them took Telly, and then the officers left the scene. Ash stopped the feds’ car by standing in the middle of the road and blocking the path. When the agents wouldn’t let him talk to Telly he tried to shove them out of the way and yelled to Telly that she was right. The agents attempted to restrain Ash outside the vehicle, but he managed to smash the window of the car and unlocked it so Telly could escape. Ash fought with one agent and got free while the other agent chased after Telly and she got away. Telly saw some strange clouds in the sky then as though a mother alien ship appeared and then disappeared. Later on, Lieutenant Anne Pope at the NYPD asked Jim why the NSA was interested in Telly, and Jim said he didn’t know and Telly was delusional because they didn’t have a son. Ash and Telly met up together later that night at the park they used to hang out with their kids on the swing sets to figure out what was going on, and they wondered what the government was capable of doing because both of their kids were erased as if they never existed. They both left together in Ash’s car. While Ash drove, a NSA vehicle with three federal agents smashed hard into Telly’s passenger side door to stop their targets. Ash and Telly ran from the mangled car, and the three agents (Alec Wong, Lisa Franks, and Al Petalis) on scene were then joined by more agents and chased after Ash and Telly on foot. The duo hid in a field, and the agents were called back and ended their search for the night. Ash and Telly went to a motel, where Telly called Munce and told him that there were people chasing them and now there was someone else who could verify her story because his daughter too was missing. Munce told Telly he diagnosed her with a panic attack, so she hung up but not before she told Munce that he needed to believe her. Ash brought Telly some snacks and he started drinking, and Telly stripped down to her black tank and black underwear and got in bed. Ash and Telly wanted to know why they were being chased because their kids were dead, funerals were had, and they had not intention of looking for dead children, so what reason would someone have to erase their memories. Telly then figured out that maybe Sam and Lauren were still alive, and Ash agreed with her. They later tried to speed off in their car when they saw the police approaching them at a rental car place. Blocking their exit was a strange man and he refused to move so Ash ran him over. The man looked almost robotic as he banged into the sign from the impact of the car. NYPD officer Anne Pope called Telly and questioned what was going on, and Telly and Ash explained that they thought their children were alive and they couldn’t understand why the feds were chasing them and wondered how two different people could remember their two children if they never existed. Telly then approached Jim outside his work and the Our Lady of Victory church, and her husband didn’t recognize her and he said he wasn’t married to her or anyone. Telly knew then that they did something to Jim’s memory. Telly and Ash were spotted and then chased by the NSA agents who crashed into taxicabs to get to them. Ash drove them away from the scene and announced that they were leaving the city for the night and they passed the man they ran over and he was perfectly intact. Meanwhile, officer Anne Pope interviewed a bystander outside the Car Rental facility across the street from the GEICO building who testified that the non-human man was smashed into the gas pump with a bang and then he got right back up as if nothing happened with no blood and he witnessed it with his own eyes. The NSA agents then confronted Anne and wanted to take over her case, and she argued that it was hers and she was investigating herself because Telly and Ash only broke New York laws and not federal. The NSA federal gang was adamant that there were no children and no plane crash when they tried to convince the NYPD officer Anne at the rental car place. Telly and Ash made it to a cabin in the NY rural woods. Telly was f-ing mad at Ash for trying to drown his sorrows with alcohol and told him that she needed him to stay clear, so Ash dumped the bottle. Dr. Munce went to see officer Anne at the PD and tried to convince her that she needed him to find his patient Telly because she trusted Munce and would call him back. Dr. Munce told officer Anne that he wanted to be present when Telly was found because he believed Telly would have a psychotic breakdown. Later that night, Ash heard dogs barking and went outside to investigate and knocked the prowler Agent Al Petalis out cold with weapon from the cabin. Ash and Telly then took turns and tortured Al to figure out where the children were, and he told them to forget the children and added that both Telly and Ash’s memories were supposed to be erased in the experiment but they weren’t. Ash asked Agent Petalis nicely how to get the children back since he had children of his own and no one would know if the federal agent bent the rules and told. Agent Petalis said “they” were listening, and then the roof collapsed and “they” took Petalis away, but not Telly or Ash (because the ungodly experiment game was not over). The local rural police Sheriff Howell, NYPD officer Anne Pope, and psych Dr. Munce investigated the cabin the next morning and dismissed it as a gas leak. They found writing on the window addressed to NYPD Anne. The white lettering on the glass window was from Telly and Ash asking for Anne’s help to rescue the “abducted” children. The NYPD police also found Petalis’s federal agent NSA badge in the woods but the local witnesses only saw two people running away after the explosion, and there was no blood or bodies. Telly and Ash went to the headquarters of QuestAir, the small airline that chartered the children’s NY flight. While there, Telly told Eileen, the court-appointed bankruptcy clerk, that she was Robert Shineer’s (owner of QuestAir) assistant so Eileen gave them Shineer’s other home address on Colony Way in Long Island. Telly and Ash discovered that the residents of that house just left it and never moved out. Ash and Telly then cuddled up on a bed together and went to sleep. Officer Anne found out where Telly and Ash went because traffic cameras and other law enforcement connections helped with that, so she took Dr. Munce with her to the Long Island house. Telly awoke after having a flashback of Sam boarding the QuestAir plane, and she remembered the strange robotic alien man they ran over standing with the children by the airplane. At the same time, Ash in another room in the house saw the same man in a picture standing by the QuestAir small airport terminal building. They both realized that it was Shineer and headed to that airport. They then discovered that the “alien beings” were with them in the house and they couldn’t get out because the doors were locked, so Ash smashed through the window. Ash gave Telly the keys to his apartment and told her to leave in their rental car as NYPD Anne drove up in her unmarked police car. Officer Anne went to check things out and told the mental doc (far from GOD) to stay in the car so she could go after Ash. Shineer appeared and walked casually about the porch. Officer Anne repeatedly told him to stop and when the strange white man didn’t listen, the female black officer shot him three times. Magically, all of the gunshot wounds healed instantly with no blood. Ash told Munce outside that they needed to leave right away if they wanted to help Telly (because Ash thought Telly was already on her way and had no idea that she was stuck in the mud where they parked the car in the woods) so the two men drove off in officer’s Anne’s car and left the police officer behind with the alien. Anne found Telly with her car stuck in the mud, and the officer was a bit traumatized and took Jesus Christ name in vain. After officer Anne told Telly that she now believed everything Telly told her to be true, Anne immediately was removed from the experiment game and was sucked up into the sky by “God Only Knows” what. Telly got the car out of the mud and made it to the apartment to find Ash there (the alien must have left too), and then Shineer (alien) appeared. Ash tried to attack him, but Shineer had superhuman strength and the alien pulled Ash out the high-rise window with him. They fell multiple stories, but Ash was then sucked up before he could hit the ground and alien Shineer disappeared again. Munce took Telly to his car and insisted that they go to the police but she convinced him to go to the QuestAir hanger at the airport. They encountered Shineer, and Munce explained to Telly that he, a licensed doctor, had been aware of the experiments the “aliens” had been doing for years (as did the federal NSA agents) and he, the ungodly shrink, just minimized the damage because no one could do anything about it, which included lying to patients and making them believe they were psychotic but they weren’t. Munce refused to help Telly any further because he didn’t want to be taken out of the game experiment by the ungodly souls. Telly then had memories in her head of Sam all through the nine years of the boy’s life, and then a boy who looked like Sam appeared and ran. Telly chased after the boy but couldn’t catch him, and she ran into alien Shineer instead. Shineer explained that the experiment was not on children but was about measuring the invisible tissue of the bond between mother and child. They figured out the bond between parent and child could be dissolved, except in Telly’s case, because they couldn’t erase Telly’s memory like they erased the majority of those other lab rat parents. Shineer informed Telly that he needed her to forget Sam otherwise the experiment would fail and he would be held accountable, and Telly replied that she would never forgot her son, the one she raised for nine years. Shineer then turned into a demon and screamed at Telly to forget the boy, and all the glass windows shattered. Telly ran away, but Shineer caught up with her and held her by the throat. Shineer then took Telly’s first memory of Sam as a baby at the hospital, and Shineer erased it. He asked Telly what the boy’s name was, and Telly pretended to forget by saying “What boy?” so Shineer would leave.Shineer walked away, and Telly then announced that she had a son named Sam so Shineer was sucked violently into the sky and it was game over for that alien who utterly failed his experimental job. Telly returned to her own house in search of Sam and didn’t find him there. So she went to the playground nearby where she often let the young boy play alone with the other children and adults aboutand screamed Sam’s name. Sam appeared then, and Telly gave him a hug and a kiss. Lauren was there too, and so was Ash. Ash had no memory of anything that happened but thought he had met Telly before as she took her place next to him on the swing set. This movie had a budget of $42 million and grossed over $117 million at the box office. The movie cover art listed, Bill Bregoli, Westwood One, “The biggest jaw-dropper since The Sixth Sense.”  “In HIS universe, the true bond between husband and wife, parent and child, siblings, family, friends, etc., has the sober mentally stable love of JESUS at the center of each and every day and all throughout the lives of GOD’s real people.” Reverend MJ

REASON: This movie is based on a series of books and began with an English explorer traveling to the forests of Darkest Peru where he met two intelligent bears of an unknown species. The explorer became friends with the bears and named them Lucy and Pastuzo, and they learned about each other’s worlds. The explorer told the bears that they would be welcome at his home in London any time. 40 years later, Lucy and Pastuzo were still talking about going to London. They now had a young nephew bear (whose named would later be called Paddington), whose parents died when he was younger. The trio built a machine to harvest oranges and make marmalade, which they became obsessed with after the explorer introduced them to it. An earthquake then destroyed the bears’ home and the surrounding forest, and Paddington and Lucy made it to the shelter but Pastuzo didn’t and he died. Paddington and Lucy rowed a boat to a shipyard, where she gave him Pastuzo’s red hat (given to him by the explorer) and put a label around his neck asking someone to look after him. Lucy told Paddington to find a new home in London while she stayed behind at the Home for Retired Bears, and she reassured Paddington that the Londoners were good and kind and would treat him well because they took in orphaned children as their own after the war. Paddington stowed away on a boat, surviving on the many jars of marmalade that Lucy gave him, and then traveled on a royal mail truck to Paddington Station in London. However, Paddington was subject to culture shock and wasn’t greeted very kindly by the busy Londoners who rudely knocked him out of their way. The Brown family (Henry, Mary and their two children, Judy and Jonathan) got off a train at the station after vacationing at the Victorian Wool Experience, and Judy didn’t like that mama Mary jumped naked into the pond while there together. Mary was enchanted by the talking bear and wanted to bring him to their house to stay for the night, and Henry wasn’t happy about it but reluctantly agreed. The Browns named the bear Paddington after the station and took him home. Jonathan teased his older tween sister Judy that Tony, the boy from school she liked and Mary said she wanted to meet Tony. Paddington explained that he wanted to find the explorer so he could live with him, and Henry didn’t believe him but Mary wanted to help. She tried to find the explorer in the books, but there was no listing so she agreed to take Paddington to Samuel Gruber’s antique shop so Gruber could identify the explorer’s hat. Paddington went to the bathroom, and was baffled by what to do with the items. He used the toothbrushes to clean out his ears and then drank mouthwash and toilet water, which led to him bursting the pipes and the room flooding to the ceiling with water. Henry was livid and struggled to get a home insurance policy to cover the damages. Jonathan had wanted Paddington to stay in his room for the night, but Henry insisted that Paddington sleep in the attic and be turned over to the authorities in the morning. Paddington wrote a letter to Lucy about the Brown family. Henry Brown was a risk analyst who believed that having a bear in the house increased the risk of damage by 4,000%, and Mary brown was an illustrator of adventure books and was currently writing about the London sewers. Judy Brown was a moody tween learning Chinese so she could run away and start a business, and she thought her family was embarrassing so she refused to bring her boyfriend Tony to the house. Jonathan Brown wanted to be an astronaut, and his attempt at building rocket boots landed him in the hospital with a broken leg. Mrs. Bird was an old relative who took care of the house and lived with the Brown family and kept everything in neat order since her deceased husband used to be in the Navy and ran a tight ship. Meanwhile, Millicent Clyde, the Natural History Museum taxidermist, was glad to hear that Grant found the presence of a marmalade-eating creature onboard a boat at the dock. Grant admitted that he didn’t capture the creature, so Millicent slapped him across the face and explained that the animal was the bear she had been hunting for years to add to her collection of stuffed animals. Millicent used darts to tranquilize the security guards and then reviewed camera footage of Paddington leaving the train station. The next day, the kids went to school, Henry went to work and Mary took Paddington to Samuel’s shop to have tea with him. Andre the thief pickpocketed a man’s wallet, but he dropped it and ran out when he saw Paddington watching him. Paddington thought the wallet was Andre’s, so he chased after him wearing a police hat and blowing a whistle. The human police followed and apprehended Andre after Paddington tackled him, and the dozens of wallets that Andre stole were returned to their owners. The kids at school cheered for Paddington, and Judy acknowledged knowing the bear since he was now popular and cool and even got in the news. Samuel inspected the red hat and discovered that it belonged to a member of an explorer’s club called the Geographers’ Guild. Henry and Mary argued about Paddington, and it was only after Judy and Jonathan gave Paddington a bath and a blue hand-me-down coat to make him look more presentable that Henry decided to check out the Guild. Millicent took a taxi and tried to convince Joe the driver to tell her where he dropped off the bear. He argued that he couldn’t reveal that because of a code, so Millicent captured Joe, tied him up upside down and threatened to remove his body parts starting with his nasal hair if he didn’t give her the information so he sent her off to Windsor Gardens. Henry took Paddington to the Geographer’s Guild the next day, where the receptionist informed them that none of their explorers in their archives ever went to Peru. Paddington convinced Henry to dress up like a female employee so they could get into the archive and look for themselves. The security guard, Barry, wanted to see the newbie’s pass, so Henry gave him a photograph and the Barry was baffled to see that the woman must have been a man at some point but he let it slide.Paddington found a roll of film that the explorer created about his trip to Darkest Peru (since there were several results for that expedition). Henry accidentally put a marmalade sandwich up the pipes and caused a mess as he and Paddington rushed outside the building. Millicent made it to the Brown house, where the Browns’ neighbor Mr. Curry fell in love with her at first sight. She was able to easily convince him to spy on Paddington by putting Mr. Curry under the impression that she wanted to send Paddington back to his home in Peru. The Browns watched the film and discovered that the explorer’s name was Captain Montgomery Clyde. Mr. Curry spied on the family and reported to Millicent when Paddington was left home alone. Millicent broke in through the ceiling and tried to shoot Paddington with darts, but he hid in the fridge. Millicent had to put on a mask when she accidentally broke open a gas container, and then the oven exploded when she tried to search it. That set off a small fire in the house, and the Browns were upset when they found out. Paddington overheard Henry and Mary arguing later that night and agreeing that they should give the bear to the authorities. Paddington left a note for the Browns apologizing for the things he did, and he went in search of Montgomery. Henry believed it was better that Paddington was homeless, and that upset the kids. Mary went to find Paddington, and Mrs. Bird told Henry that the family needed Paddington just as much as he needed them. Paddington finally found the Clyde house, and Millicent, Montgomery’s daughter, invited Paddington in and told him that her dad was dead but she would help Paddington. She locked him in her taxidermy van, and Mr. Curry couldn’t believe that Millicent was taking Paddington to be put on display at the Museum so Millicent told Mr. Curry to leave. Mr. Curry then called the Browns and told them what happened to Paddington. Millicent explained to Paddington that her dad Montgomery refused to bring back a bear to be stuffed and put on display at the museum because the bears were intelligent creatures. Montgomery refused to reveal where the bears’ home was so someone else could go collect a specimen, so the Guild members revoked his membership, turned their backs on him and deleted any record of his expedition. Now Millicent wanted to finish what Montgomery didn’t by stuffing a bear. Mrs. Bird distracted the security guard while the Browns got into the museum through the sewers. Henry dangerously climbed around the outside of the building to get to the room where Paddington was, and he was able to wake Paddington up from his tranquilized state by shouting to him. Paddington ran from Millicent and started climbing up the furnace to get to the roof. He almost fell into the flames below, but the Browns caught him and rescued him just in time because he spoke to them in bear that he taught Judy to speak and understand. Millicent confronted them, and they refused to hand Paddington over because he was now part of their Brown/Bird family and they loved him. Paddington took the sandwich out of his hat and threw it at Millicent, and the pigeons that he fed his sandwich to at the train station went after the sandwich and swarmed around Millicent. Millicentalmost fell off the roof. Mrs. Bird came through the trapdoor and knocked Millicent down and saved everyone, including the bear from the devil’s own Millicent. The England judge didn’t think jail would do Millicent any good, so he sentenced her to community service shoveling donkey poop at the petting zoo, where the monkey that Millicent tried to stuff used the forklift to dump manure on her. Paddington moved in with the Browns, and they all worked together to make marmalade, which contained all the vitamins and minerals a bear needed for the day. Judy finally got over her embarrassment issue and invited Tony to the house, where Mary cried because she was so happy to meet Tony and then left the two young kids in Judy’s bedroom alone while Henry spent time with Jonathan and helped him build rockets. This movie had a budget of $65 million and grossed over $282 million at the box office.

TITLE:  Peter Rabbit

BOX OFFICE RATED: PG (This is not suitable for GOD’s children.)

PRODUCTION YEAR: 2018 Columbia Pictures / Sony Pictures Animation / Olive Bridge Entertainment / Animal Logic Entertainment / 2.0 Entertainment / Screen Australia / Sony Pictures Releasing

REASON: This movie takes place in Windermere, England, (great Britain) where Benjamin Bunny and the Rabbit family, Peter the eldest and his triplet sisters Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail, lived. The bunnies plotted to yet again steal vegetables from 78-year-old Mr. McGregor’s garden. Mr. McGregor set up traps to catch the rabbits and turn them into pies. Peter’s dad ended up in a pie after Mr. McGregor caught him stealing from the garden to feed his family. The triplets distracted Mr. McGregor while Peter collected the vegetables. Peter also had his friend, klutzy Benjamin helping him too. One time Peter just barely escaped (and lost his dad’s jacket in the process) because he was messing around and wanted to put a carrot down Mr. McGregor’s butt crack. After Peter and the triplets’ mom died, Bea, the aspiring female artist who lived next door to Mr. McGregor, took care of the rabbits and kept them safe. Bea told the rabbits not to go back in the garden, but Peter noticed his jacket out on display so he snuck back into the garden to get it. Mr. McGregor captured Peter, but then the old man had a heart attack on the spot from having to deal with the added stress from the bad bunny so elder Mr. McGregor died on the spot. The garden was then opened to all the forest animals and they feasted, and then the wild ones took over Mr. McGregor’s vacant house and partied. Meanwhile in London, Mr. McGregor’s great nephew Thomas McGregor worked at Harrods’ toy store. Thomas was informed by June, the general manager, that his great uncle passed away. Thomas wasn’t upset because he never even knew Mr. McGregor existed, and Thomas was only disappointed that he didn’t get the promotion to assistant general manager that he had been working towards for the last 10 years. Instead, the job went unfairly to Nigel Banner because Nigel was the managing director’s nephew and not because Nigel was qualified for the higher position. Thomas went ballistic and destroyed things in the store. Thomas beat on a stuffed teddy bear and then weirdly kissed it and apologized to the stuffed animal. Thomas was fired and escorted out of the building by security. Thomas later learned that he inherited Mr. McGregor’s manor in Windermere, so Thomas moved there even though he didn’t like the country. Thomas planned to sell the manor and use the proceeds to buy his own toy store near Harrods so he could compete with his former employer. Thomas kicked all the wild animals out of his house and started cleaning it up. Bea showed up and gave Thomas a welcoming gift of bird-watching binoculars and asked him to leave the gates open so the wildlife could come and go as they pleased. Thomas said he would leave the gate open, but he didn’t and instead captured Benjamin when he and Peter went into the garden to get food. Thomas left in his truck with Benjamin in a bag and planned to dump him in the river, but the rabbits followed after and were able to swap Benjamin with the binoculars. Benjamin lost his jacket in the scuffle, and when Peter gave it back to him the triplets complained about Benjamin wearing brown on brown. They declared that sometimes they thought Benjamin was naked and they mistook his nipples for the buttons. Thomas and Bea started falling in love and kissing, and the rabbits couldn’t understand why she liked him. Thomas claimed to like rabbits (even though he thought they were vermin and hated them), so Bea introduced Thomas to Peter. The two fought each other, and Thomas made it look like Peter ruined Bea’s painting by spilling paint on it. Thomas claimed that he tried to stop the mad rabbit, and Bea kicked the rabbits out. The wild animals decided that meant war, so they set up animal traps, pitchforks and other things around the house to annoy Thomas. Thomas installed an electric fence around the garden and covered it in peanut butter to entice the rabbits, and Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle the hedgehog liked peanut butter and zapped herself when she tried to get it. The rabbits outsmarted Thomas and rerouted the electricity to the door handles in the house so they could get safely into the garden while Thomas electrocuted himself whenever he touched a handle. Thomas filled the rabbits’ burrow with sticks of dynamite and planned to blow them up, but Bea interrupted him. The rabbits moved onto the next phase and catapulted vegetables at Thomas’s private parts when he was in the garden. They fired blackberries at Thomas because they knew he was allergic to them, and one landed in Thomas’s mouth and he quickly used his EpiPen in his thigh because he had an almost fatal allergic reaction (the animals knew that he would) and would have surly died if Thomas didn’t have the EpiPen with him. Then the animals were upset that Thomas was still alive. Thomas then threw sticks of dynamite into the garden and the rabbits ran, and Mopsy thought she got hit but it was just a tomato. Bea was in her studio painting and blasting music so she could only faintly hear the explosions outside. Thomas pinned Peter down and threatened to wring his neck, but before he could Bea appeared. Thomas announced that Peter was choking on his food and Thomas saved him, and when Bea questioned him about the loud sounds Thomas said he would never use explosives to kill the rabbits. Peter clicked the button on the detonator and all the dynamite that Thomas set up in the fields went off. Bea was upset that Thomas lied to her, and then the dynamite inside the rabbit burrow exploded. The tree fell on top of Bea’s house and destroyed her paintings, and Bea didn’t believe Thomas when he tried to explain that it was the wild animals that caused it and did all the things to him. Peter felt guilty because he knew that he was partly at fault for destroying both Bea’s home and the rabbits’ home. Thomas put the house up for sale and took a train back to London, where June informed him that Bannerman quit his job after one day and moved to France. Thomas took the job. Peter apologized to the other rabbits, and then he headed to the train station with Benjamin and they rode a train to London. Bea planned to leave Windermere and go back to the city, so the triplets stayed behind to try and stop Bea. Peter and Benjamin went to Harrods, where they confronted Thomas. He tried to attack the rabbits, but he came to his senses after they explained about Bea. The two former enemies then joined forces, and they and Benjamin returned to Windermere, England. Thomas apologized to Bea and told her that he loved her, and he took full responsibility for everything that happened. Bea understood that it was true after Peter showed her that he was capable of pressing the detonator button. The man and woman who bought the house then appeared, and Thomas tried to cancel the sale but they were adamant that they were moving in. However, the bunnies used electricity and the presence of wild animals in the house to successfully deter the couple, and as it turned out Thomas and Bea stayed in Windermere with the wild animals. This movie had a budget of $50 million budget and grossed over $351 million at the box office. The movie cover art listed, Glenn Kenny, The New York Times “Charming.” Tom Russo, Boston Globe, “Irresistibly entertaining.” Sandy Cohen, AP, “Adorable.” Bill Zwecker, Fox-TV Chicago, “One of the most charming and entertaining family films in years!”

REASON: This movie began with 12-year-old Austin Brown and his family moving to a new home in Langley, Arizona, during Christmastime. This was another of the many yearly moves the Browns made because Austin’s dad was in the army. At his new school, Austin met Greg, a tech whiz who programmed his phone to operate his toaster. Greg also hacked into the school attendance program (just for the sake of seeing if he could hack it) so he could skip school whenever he wanted to even though he liked school. Austin’s dad announced that he was being deployed to Afghanistan but would be back for Christmas, and then the family would stay in Langley for good. At the Christmas tree lot, a “wise man,” was selling puppies and claimed that Dino wasn’t for sale because he was special. The man explained that when the Great Spirit created the world and made dog man’s best friend, he gave Dino the unique ability to communicate to people through music. Austin promised that he would be Dino’s best friend, so the man gave him Dino. It wasn’t long before Austin, Greg and Austin’s 6-year-old sister Vanessa discovered that puppy Dino could talk and sing. The kids tried to show Austin’s mom what Dino could do, but she didn’t believe them. Austin then got the idea to audition Dino for the TV show America’s Next Pop Icon (Am Idol), which the Browns watched regularly. Since Dino had stage fright and was only comfortable singing in the shower, he went onstage inside a portable shower and sang a love song. The judges, (including the previous year’s champion, young teenage singer Taylor Madison who Austin had a crush on) were impressed by Dino’s voice until the kids accidentally ran into the shower curtain and revealed that Dino was a dog and not a kid like the judges thought. They weren’t going to let Dino compete in the upcoming rounds, but they eventually agreed because they couldn’t deny that Dino was a better singer than most of the other contestants. The kids in the neighborhood gathered around to hear Dino sing at the clubhouse. Austin and Greg then became the most popular kids at school. The kids encouraged Dino to believe in himself, so he was eventually able to sing without the shower and he won all the rounds. Austin got caught up in it all and even got to talk to Taylor. He wanted to go to the celebrity parties that Dino was invited to, but Vanessa and Greg didn’t want to go and didn’t care about winning the competition. Hacker Greg and Vanessa left to go mess with air traffic using Greg’s tablet. Two bumbling dogcatchers, conniving Frank and his partner in crime Lloyd, saw Dino on TV and plotted to capture him and hold him for ransom. They claimed to be fans wanting Dino’s autograph and asked the mailman about where the dog could be, and the federal employee directed them to Greg’s clubhouse. The dogcatchers tried to break in, but Frank got stuck in the doggy door and sprayed with paint when he set off Greg’s burglar trap. Lloyd ran scared when Dino appeared and chased after him, and Officer Diego apprehended Lloyd and took him in because he didn’t have the dog on a leash and because the officer thought Lloyd looked like a suspicious criminal. Frank picked Lloyd up from the police station, and then the two men pretended to be caterers to get into the show studio. A security guard stopped them and Frank ended up with his arm in a sling, so then he and Lloyd dressed up as Hollywood executives in suits and ties. The criminal minded imposters got in and went to Dino’s dressing room, where they used name-dropping (they represented the Olson twins and Frank got his injuries in a fight with Beyoncé) to impress Austin. They offered him a recording contract and the opportunity to be rich and famous, and Austin was interested even though Dino tried to tell him that Frank and Lloyd were bad guys. Before Dino’s performance, Frank and Lloyd dognapped him and swapped him with another dog that looked like him. The other dog couldn’t sing so the fake Dino was disqualified from the competition. Frank and Lloyd took the real Dino to the pound, and Frank thought that Dino’s ability talk was just a trick. Frank planned to wait for Austin to come to them in search of Dino so then Frank and Lloyd could get the answers out of Austin. Austin soon went to the dog pound with the fake Dino, and he snooped around and discovered that the real Dino was there. Austin left behind the fake Dino with the real Dino. Austin then went to make amends with Vanessa and Greg and apologized for getting carried away with the stardom. The kids made a plan to get the real Dino out of the pound and called 911 to report Dino’s disappearance.  Austin’s mom wasn’t happy about it. Officer Diego couldn’t help because he was called away to an armed robbery. Austin’s mom then left the house to run errands last minute Christmas shopping and go to the post office, and while she was away the kids planned to break into the pound and rescue Dino so they told Mrs. Brown that they didn’t want to go and they hated the post office. Greg used his tablet to unlock the door to the pound, and the kids grabbed Dino. They released the fake Dino, who the dogcatchers found in the building, and Frank and Lloyd went after the imposter dog. By the time they realized it wasn’t really Dino, the kids were escaping on their bicycles and Frank and Lloyd chased after them in their van. The kids led the bad guys to the studio, where the incompetent security failed to catch Frank and Lloyd and they interrupted the competition. Austin’s mom saw what was happening on TV and rushed to the studio, where security let her in without an ID because she was looking for her kids. Dino then went onstage and sang a song about how Austin believed in him, and the crowd loved Dino. Frank tried to grab Dino, but security was able to grab both Frank and Lloyd and they were handed over to the police. The kids explained that it wasn’t the real Dino onstage during the last round, so Dino was put back in the running for the competition and he was announced the winner of the competition and became America’s next pop icon. Taylor congratulated Austin and Dino and introduced her dog Darla who Dino fell in love with. Taylor and Darla joined the Brown family for Christmas, and Austin’s dad came home.

REASON: This movie takes place in New York, where real estate mogul Lacey tore down buildings to make way for Lacey Plaza. Everyone moved out of the area except for five tenants (Frank Riley, his mentally challenged wife Faye, pregnant Marisa Esteval, Mason Baylor the artist and former boxing champ Harry) in an apartment building, so Lacey hired a group of abusive gangsters led by Carlos to pay the tenants to move out. However, the tenants refused to move and Frank Riley, the elderly owner of Riley’s Café downstairs, didn’t want to take the money or leave so he was thrown out into the street while Carlos used a baseball bat to smash everything inside to pieces. Mason tried to convince Mrs. Thompson to preserve the building, but she insisted that she couldn’t do anything about it because it was hardly livable (because Carlos trashed and his hired thugs had just trashed it inside and out). Mason’s girlfriend left him because she believed he could do better than try to save the dilapidated building and she was mad that he never painted her nude. Frank and Faye’s friends Sid and Muriel had decided to take the money and arranged with Donald to live in a senior home in Jersey. Since Muriel had been giving Faye her medicine, now Frank took over and administered it to Faye. Frank sat down alone and asked somebody for help, and later that night a male and female pair of alien intelligent UFOs from outer space flew in through the window. The next morning, the tenants woke up to find metal appliances missing from their rooms and other things repaired (that were broken by Carlos) or put in different spots. They found Faye on the roof, where she explained that the spaceships, which she called the fix-its, were responsible. Everyone believed Faye was crazy until she coaxed the fix-its out of hiding and proved that they were capable of repairing things. Frank was shocked to discover that the fix-its also put the café back in one piece, and everyone believed that the alien fix-its were there to help them somehow. The little spaceships ate metal and gained power by plugging themselves into outlets. They also collected metal things like frying pans and toasters and kept them in the storage shed on the roof. The fix-its collected Carlos’ aluminum bat when he confronted the tenants about why the things he destroyed were fixed. They warned Carlos not to go inside the rooftop shed, but he did anyway and got electrocuted so he ran away scared. Carlos and his gang took up position in a nearby building to spy on the rooftop. Marisa, many months pregnant, told Mason that she hadn’t ever been to the doctor for her pregnancy so she wasn’t sure when the baby was due, but she was adamant that her musician boyfriend Hector and his band would come back soon to see her. Mason had thrown his paintings out the window the day Carlos tried to kick everyone out, and Mason thought they were picked up by the garbage truck but Marisa was keeping them in her room. The lights in the building then started flickering. The two fix-its took up residence in the shed, where the female had twins. Faye announced that she was a grandmother, and Mason was thrilled that the alien spaceships were intelligent and could reproduce themselves. Frank pledged allegiance to honor and protect the aliens so help them God. There was a third alien fix-it that was stillborn, and Faye buried it and said prayers for it. Marisa was upset and ran off because the heap of spare parts got born but never had a chance to live. Harry unburied the fix-it and ran off with it to his room where he started working on it. Kovacs, one of Lacey’s employees and the boss of Carlos, was mad that Carlos was more concerned about the storage shed than kicking the tenants out. The café was back in business and the fix-its helped cook the food, and Faye named the little alien ones Flotsam and Jetsam. Faye believed that Carlos was her son Bobby, and he kept correcting her that he wasn’t and he was working for Lacey so he could get enough money to move out of there. Faye invited Carlos for dinner, but he refused after he saw the spaceships and announced that Faye was just trying to fool people into thinking she was crazy when she wasn’t. Mason brought Marisa food, milk and a baby book so she wouldn’t have to worry anymore, and then he noticed his art pictures in her apartment. Marisa posed for a picture fully clothed and wasn’t happy when she discovered that Mason painted her bare-breasted and pregnant when the pregnant female was fully clothed. Hector and his band came back, but Marisa told them to leave and take a job in Chicago because she wanted to stay with Mason and pose for more of his paintings (basically broke up with the sire of the child yet to be born). Marisa and Mason kissed after Hector left. Carlos went to see Lacey and tried to promise that he would have the tenants out by the night, but Lacey found someone else to do the job. Frank and Faye were surprised to discover that Harry was able to repair the littlest alien fix-it (because he figured out that batteries were not included). Carlos decided that he would still accomplish his mission, so he used an axe to smash the pipes and the lights in the basement so the tenants wouldn’t have electricity or water. When Carlos was discovered, he struck the male fix-it with the axe and the alien spaceship collapsed appearing to be dead. Carlos tried to escape but Harry beat him up and threw him out on the street. Faye screamed that Bobby was hurt and to help him, and Frank tried to tell her that Bobby was dead. Faye insisted that Bobby was alive and he was in the process of buying a car so he could get away from his dad who hated him. Harry discovered that the little fix-its left during the commotion, so he went to the top of a building and used his dog whistle to call them to him. Everyone else, except for Faye, went with Harry. The fix-its used their powers to restore the electricity to the building, and the male spaceship alien recovered from his injuries. Harry wanted to keep the littlest fix-it, but the others told Harry to let him go and the family of five returned to their alien planet. Carlos discovered that one of Lacey’s goons set something up in the storeroom so the building would burn down in a few minutes. The thug faked having a broken knee, so Carlos ran inside to get Faye out. However, Faye locked herself in her room and refused to leave after she looked at the newspaper clipping about her son Bobby’s death in a car crash at 18 years old and she knew Carlos wasn’t Bobby. Carlos tried to get rid of the flammable stuff in the storeroom, but it caught fire and was blazing within seconds. Carlos carried Faye out of the building over his shoulder to safety, and everything but the café burned up despite the firemen’s efforts. The next morning, Harry sat out on the front step and Kovacs wanted him gone, but the demolition crew wouldn’t do anything until Harry moved. He stayed there all day, and then the alien fix-its appeared with many more of their kind. Faye was taken to the hospital, where Frank announced that he and Faye were going to a new home in Jersey where Sid and Muriel lived. Faye wanted to go home to the apartment. Carlos brought Faye flowers and doughnuts and Frank tried to tell her that it was Bobby, but Faye broke down in tears. Everyone then gathered on the street and was shocked to discover that the apartment building was completely restored thanks to the alien fix-its. Lacey couldn’t explain it, and he fired Kovacs. Faye was happy to be back home and Marisa and Mason were together. The building stayed where it was while Lacey built two almost identical NY skyscrapers around it. This movie had a budget of $25 million and grossed over $65 million at the box office. The movie cover art listed, Roger Ebert, Siskel & Ebert/Chicago Sun-Times, “…cheerful, funny family entertainment.” Steven Spielberg/Kathleen Kennedy/Frank Marshall.

REASON: This movie is based on a book and is about the Harris/Johnson family living in Hartwell, Georgia. It began in winter of 1909 and 14-year-old Celie Harris giving birth to a girl that was sired by Celie’s papa. Celie’s younger sister Nettie helped with the delivery and Papa secretly took the baby away and told the girls not to tell anybody but God and especially not their mom (dad hid this second daddy/daughter pregnancy from the mom for 9 months again). Celie had a male child before this female child called Adam and this female she named Olivia and both times Papa took the babies away. Celie asked God why it was happening to her because Papa told her that since her mama wouldn’t have him sex then he would get it from his daughters and Celie would. Celie’s mama then suddenly died. Celie said there was talk around town that Papa sold Adam to a preacher and his wife and she kept praying that Papa would marry because dad was now eyeing his youngest daughter Nettie sexually. Papa then married Gray, a 13-year-old girl, at the local church, and an adult man called Mister Johnson eyed Nettie inside the church building as his own wife died. Mister showed up at the house alone and asked Papa if he could marry Nettie so she could raise his three kids and do the cleaning and cooking and other chores while he worked the farm. Papa informed Mister that Nettie was too young and he could never have her anyway, but Papa offered up Celie for marriage. Mister accepted, and his son didn’t want Celie as his mom so he threw something at her head that made her bleed and Mister went after him with a whip. They consummated the marriage and all Celie could think about during sex was Nettie being left alone with their abusive Papa and the dead wife of Celie’s new husband and wondered why she died so young. Celie then cleaned up the nasty wrecked house and was treated worse than a maid by everyone around her. Nobody had combed the girls’ hair since their mom died, so it was tangled and when Celie told Mister that the girl was crying because it hurt her Mister slapped Celie hard across the face for back-talking him. In spring of 1909, Celie spotted a baby that she thought was hers with Reverend Samuel’s wife and started following them around town. The preacher’s wife explained that she could not have children of her own and that the baby’s name was Pauline but she was called Olivia. In the next scene, Nettie ran away to stay with Celie because she couldn’t keep her dad off her. The sister’s planned for Nettie to go to school while Nettie lived at the Johnson house because Mister was about to make his move on Nettie and neither sister wanted that and wanted to teach her big sister how to read letters in the event they became separated again. Mister was listening to their conversation outside the room. Nettie taught Celie to read Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. The sister acted like little girls and happily sang their childhood song Makidada. One day soon after Mister (brother-in-law) creepily watched young Nettie leave for school and followed her on his horse on her way to school. He tried to rape her in the woods but she got away by hitting him in the private parts with her book bag. Once home, Mister then dragged the two sisters apart and forced Nettie to leave and never come back by throwing rocks at her with all the neighbor kids around watching the abusive scene. Mister then got a letter from his showgirl lover Shug Avery, and since she couldn’t come to him he went to see her and took it out on Celie and told her not to mess with the mailbox to see if there was anything from Nettie because he had ways of knowing if she tampered with the mail. In summer of 1916, Mister visited his mistress at a singing show that Shug and her band put on. Over the years Celie never received a letter from Nettie and was worried that her sister died. Mister’s son, Harpo, planned to marry Sofia, and Sofia was already pregnant with God’s child. They got married after the baby was born and the baby was at the altar with the bride and groom. Oddly, the reverend announced afterward to salute the bride instead of kiss the bride. After the wedding, Sofia was the boss lady and ordered Harpo around making him feed the baby after he fell through the roof trying to repair it. Harpo went to Mister for advice, and he said that Harpo needed to be the boss. Celie told Harpo to beat Sofia, so he did. Sofia got a black eye and confronted Celie about telling Harpo to beat her up. Sofia went on and explained that all her life she had to fight her dad, her uncles and her brothers because a girl wasn’t safe in a house full of men and boys. Sofia went on to say that she would kill Harpo before he beat her again, and she told Celie to kill Mister if he ever touched her again. Harpo went to his dad with a bigger black eye (Sofia’s doing) but he blamed it on the mule. Sofia and Harpo kept beating on each other and having babies but then Sofia finally packed up and left with the many children. Mister brought Shug to the house for a visit, and in her sickly drunken state Shug called Celie ugly and laughed in her face. Mister tried to make Shug dinner but he burned it because he put kerosene in the stove that didn’t heat up fast enough with wood so Shug wouldn’t eat it and through it against the wall. Shug only ate the breakfast that Celie made. Celie helped Shug bathe and gave Shug more oils for her bath as she sat naked in the tub and smoked and drank hard alcohol. Shug said her pa loved her and her parents were raising Shug’s own children because they needed a pa around (Shug was clearly not a fit parent). Mister’s dad, Ol’ Mister Johnson, came to visit him and Celie listened to Ol’ Mister talk trash about Shug and how she was a Jezebel with a nasty women’s disease and all her kids had different dads. Celie spit in Ol’ Mister’s water and gave it to him to drink (which he did), and she planned to put Shug’s pee in Ol’ Mister’s drink next time he visited. Mister wished he married Shug when he had the chance, and Ol’ Mister told his son that he threw his life away and most of Ol’ Mister’s money too. In summer 1922, Harpo and his buddy Swain converted his and Sofia’s old house to a jook joint party place in the woods for Shug to sing and perform at. Celie felt out of place there because those in attendance called her Mister’s maid. However, Shug sang a special new song about sisters called “Miss Celie’s Blues.” Sofia arrived and brought along a male friend named Henry “Buster” Broadnax that made Harpo jealous. Harpo’s girlfriend, Squeak, was mad that Sofia was dancing with Harpo. Squeak called Sofia a heifer and slapped her across the face. Everyone tried to escape, and Sofia punched Squeak hard and Squeak fell into the water below. That led to everyone fighting. Shug grabbed Celie and took her back to the house so Celie could try on Shug’s sparkly show outfits like the red dress she wore. Shug told Celie she had a beautiful smile, and then Shug announced that she was leaving. Celie confessed that if Shug left then Mister would go back to beating Celie for not being Shug. The two women then discussed how Celie didn’t like sex with Albert and Shug said she did so Shug told Celie that because she didn’t like sex with Mister then Celie was still a virgin. Shug told Celie she loved her and started kissing her on the face and the two women kissed each other on the lips and then did other things. Celie started following Shug around after that everywhere Shug went. Shug went to the church and said hello to her preacher dad but he didn’t want anything to do with her so she decided to go back to Memphis and then off to Chicago. Celie planned to go with her so she could get away from Mister Jail, but Celie couldn’t bring herself to do it and collapsed in the street after Shug left in the car with her band. In town, black Sofia decked the white mayor after he slapped her in the face because Sofia told his wife Miss Millie hell no were her kids going to slave for her. A group of angry white men got in Sofia’s face and called the black woman a fat nigger, and then the white sheriff knocked Sofia out by hitting her in the head with the butt of his gun. In fall 1930, gray-haired Sofia, with a scarred eye from being hit by the sheriff 8 years before, was led to the mayor. When Sofia got out of jail, she had to be Miss Millie’s maid for the rest of her life and teach Miss Millie how to drive the new car that the mayor bought her. When they went to the local store, Celie was there and helped Sofia with the shopping. Miss Millie announced that she was taking Celie to her house on Christmas Day to visit the children for a few hours that she hadn’t seen in 8 years (Celie talked the governor’s wife into it). Celie was there and waited with the kids to greet Sofia. Emma introduced herself because she didn’t remember Sofia. Outside the house though, Miss Millie was having a very hard time driving by herself and the men that visited for Christmas tried to help her so she wouldn’t hurt herself running into things since the governor’s wife already hit a tractor and tree with the car. The white woman started screaming and crying and told Sofia that the colored men tried to attack her after she was always good to them. Since Miss Millie didn’t know any of the colored people, she insisted that Sofia drive her home so Sofia didn’t to spend much time with anyone. In spring of 1936, Shug returned for Easter and Mr. and Sofia jumped out of bed when they heard her honking her horn because the married couple was both in love with the celebrity that got around. Shug brought her husband Grady with her and the mood went sour, and they were in their new car they got as a wedding gift. Shug told Grady to teach Mister how to drive since Grady drove like a fool and the police almost caught them. Shug went out to get the mail because she was expecting something, and when her reverend dad went by the house he refused to stop and ignored Shug even though she yelled to him that she was now married. Shug found a letter from Nettie to Celie in the mailbox, and she brought Celie upstairs privately and gave her the letter dated April 18th, 1935. Nettie said in her letter that she wasn’t dead and loved her sister. Nettie had been writing to Celie all those years but never received a reply so she assumed that Albert took the mail and didn’t allow the sisters to communicate like he threated to do before Nettie left. Nettie only wrote on Christmas and Easter hoping one of the letters would get through to Celie. Nettie explained that she went to Africa on a mission and ended up with Reverend Samuel, his wife Corrinne and their adopted children Adam and Olivia. Nettie told Celie that the children were growing up in a loving home with Nettie and Adam and Olivia’s parents, and Nettie believed that God sent her to watch over them. Celie was happy to know that Adam and Olivia were alive and well. While Mister and Grady went to the jook joint to have drinks and entertainment, Celie and Shug searched the house and found a loose floorboard hidden underneath a trunk. There were naked pictures of women, a cache of money and all of Nettie’s letters from over the year, that Celie started reading. Nettie described Africa and the things taught at the missionary school, including the Bible, and how some of the kids liked the school and others had to be dragged there. Tashi wasn’t allowed to attend school because her tribe didn’t educate females, and she said they were like the white people in America who wouldn’t let black people learn. Tashi and Olivia became friends. The Africans started building roads in Africa and one road went right through the village of Olinka where they lived. The church, the school and their huts, were all destroyed and the reverend’s wife died from fever and they buried her the Olinka way. Celie kept reading the letters in church hidden in her Bible, and Nettie announced that they were coming home soon and she hoped they were able to work something out with the US because the US officials didn’t know if they were American, African or missionaries. One day Mister gave Celie a bloody nose when he found her reading a letter because she didn’t hear him call and he was ready for his shave. The kids told Shug that Celie planned to give Mister a shave and Shug knew then that because of what Albert did to Celie that Celie planned to use the knife to kill Mister so Shug set off running to their house. Shug was able to stop Celie just before her female lover Celie could slit her male lover (Albert’s) Mister’s throat. Simultaneously, it showed young Adam and Olivia having their faces cut at an African ceremony. At a dinner, Sofia, Mister, Ol’ Mister, Squeaky, Harpo, Shug, Grady and the kids were there. Shug announced that Celie was going to Memphis, Tennessee, with her and her husband. Squeaky (Mary Agnes) spoke up and said she was going too. Many angry and mean words were spoken. Albert (Mister) and his father put women down in general like they usually did. Celie told her husband that he was worthless and evil for keeping the only one she loved and one who loved her back too seperated (her sister Nettie) all those years and also for silencing the communication between the two females that grew up together for years in the same house. Celie jumped up and held a knife to Mister’s throat that sent the young children and some adults flying from the room, and cursed her husband who kept his girlfriend around and treated his wife like a slave while she raised his mean spirited children (they copied their dad’s abusive behavior toward her) for years.  Celie cursed Albert for all his days of evil to her and for not doing right by his wife ever and told him the jail he planned for her was the one he would rot in. Albert screamed as Celie left in the car with Shug and Shug’s gang that he should have locked his wife up and kept her there a long time ago.In fall of 1937, Ol’ Mister came for a visit and found Mister lying unconscious with the farm animals in the wrecked house after he resorted to drinking heavily. Ol’ Mister told his son that he needed a young girl in the house, and Mister told his dad to leave because of what happened the last time he married a young girl…no doubt took his dad’s advice then. At the jook joint where Sofia bartended one night, eldest son Harpo told his dad Alfred (Mister) that it was time for him to go home and he went back home drunk and alone in the pouring rain. Celie returned to Georgia for her Papa’s funeral, and she found out that her bio dad was lynched and two years later her mom married Papa. That meant that the babies she had were not her siblings even though the only dad she ever knew sired them. Celie asked Papa’s new young wife how Papa died while inside the church his wife, Gray, told Celie that he died from having sex with her. Celie then found out from Gray that the land and the store and house belonged to Celie’s mom’s family, so Gray moved away with the Harris (husband) money with her small son, because the money was left to Gray, and the property, store and house went to Celie and Nettie because it was in their mama name. Celie then opened a store called Miss Celie’s Folkspants, where Sofia and Harpo were customers and the pants were unisex (both male and female gender) and one size fit all. Celie saw Mister on his horse outside through the window. At the bar, Shug sang while church was in session a short distance away. When the choir started singing “God Is Trying To Tell You Something,” Shug led the drinking party over to the church to join in. Shug interrupted service and told her dad the preacher that sinners had soul too and he hugged her back to make it look as though the Reverend approved of his daughter’s wanton behavior and accepted the ones in their current drunken drugged state inside the church because that was all healthy and normal at the place of worship. At Mister’s house, Celie Harris-Johnson received a letter from Immigration and Naturalization concerning Nettie who was being held there with Adam, Olivia and their reverend dad. Albert got money out of his box and went to the office without contacting Celie, and he showed the immigration officials proof of Nettie’s citizenship (marriage cert). Shug visited Celie at her mother’s house (now Celie’s and Nettie’s). Shug and Celie walked in the field of flowers and Shug told her girlfriend that God would be pissed if people didn’t notice the beautiful flowers. Not long after, a car came to Celie’s house. Inside was Nettie, Reverend Samuel and others. After Celie and Nettie were happily together again, Celie was introduced to Olivia and Adam who only spoke African, and she also met Adam’s wife, Tashi. Celie then claimed the children as her own and ignored the Reverend Samuel who was the children’s real dad and raised the children as his own for the majority of their lives and were now grown up. Mister was in the field nearby with his horse and watched and hoped that the ugly curse was now lifted that Celie had put on him. This movie had a budget of $15 million and grossed over $98 million at the box office.
